A stress free wedding day thanks to Smooth Sailing Events!

I worked with Rachel and her associate, Madyson, from Smooth Sailing Events for my wedding in March, and could not be more grateful for them. They did my day-of coordination, and went above and beyond what I expected. Rachel was very helpful in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and talked through all of the logistics and little details with me to make sure we had everything ready to go. When I asked about where I might donate our wedding flowers after the event, Rachel offered not just to find a place that would accept them, but to take them there herself. On the actual day of the wedding, I didn’t have to worry or think about a thing, she and Madyson had everything covered, and everything went just as smoothly as I had hoped it would. I can’t imagine how stressful that day would have been without them there, and am so glad we chose to work with Smooth Sailing Events!

Rachel put our minds at ease

We worked with Rachel for our wedding reception and she was excellent throughout the process. We had a blast at our reception and I (the groom) worked with her to surprise my Bride with a getaway car. We couldn't have done it without her!

Rachel was absolutely amazing to work with she took so much pressure off of me and made sure my wedding day went as stress free as possible. I also probably wouldn't have found the amazing vendors that I did if it wasn't for her.

Best. Person. Ever.

There are not enough words to explain how much I LOVE Rachel and how grateful I am for her! She and her team made my wedding PERFECT - I truly don’t think I would’ve been able to enjoy myself as much if I didn’t have her. People often ask me, “What’s one thing you would recommend to another bride for her wedding?” and I immediately tell them a day-of coordinator. Rachel took care of absolutely EVERYTHING, was an absolute dream to work with, and was a joy to be around. Seriously, my entire family adores her!!! Rachel was my right-hand person the entire day of the wedding. There wasn’t a time that I looked up/around me that I didn’t see Rachel. She was always there to make sure I was okay, ask if I needed anything, and to facilitate the evening going as smoothly as possible. Some highlights from the evening that REALLY stuck out to me: I had a special cup with a straw that I had soda in - Rachel made sure I NEVER ran out of coke; at one point, Rachel came and grabbed my hand and led us to a little room where we could take a few minutes to actually eat our dinner; she reminded me several times throughout the day that it was MY day and I had no reason to stress/worry, that she would take care of everything; she helped me during the planning process by giving advice and opinions when I asked for it, which was SO HELPFUL since she has great taste; Rachel even took my FAVORITE picture from the wedding - my mom and step dad helping me put my shoes back on at the reception. I could write a novel on how amazingly talented Rachel is, how she devoted ALL of her attention to me and my needs just to make sure the day was everything I imagined, and how much fun we had together! If you need someone to coordinate/plan your event, do yourself a favor and call Rachel! I am forever grateful for her and I just love her to pieces.

Rachel is amazing

Rachel was amazing and I had such a great time working with her. She was very professional and I didn't have to worry about a thing! Even on my wedding day, everything was seamless and she did such a phenomenal job. I would HIGHLY recommend her and will definitely be using her again!

Not so Smooth Sailing :(

We wish we could say that Smooth Sailing Event Coordinating lived up to their name, and all of the Google reviews that we saw before hiring them for our daughter's wedding. Even with having done so much ourselves beforehand, and having our own crew to set up/take down our reception the day of, simple tasks were not carried out, even when promised that they would be. We were disappointed that vendors still had to contact us directly the day of, because our coordinators were not onsite when they arrived, updated planning diagrams were not shared, and communication was lacking. All the planning we had done, the money we had spent, and the anticipation of a great day quickly diminished when we realized the details that had not been carried out. We feel let down and frustrated because their team couldn't fulfill all that was expected and promised. Sadly we would not hire them again, nor encourage anyone else to do so.
