Small Kitchen Big Taste is the number one thing people talk about when they mention my wedding. "Your food was out of this world." We had a unqiue DIY situation at an outdoor pavillion and SKBT made the experience feel fancy and fun! We chose to go with the stations option for meals and everything was beyond tasty! We had the taco and southern comfort station options. Every detail was well planned out and executed perfectly. They were able to be incredibly flexible when the venue was giving us a hard time about timing and scheduling. Karen and her team made the process easy and stress free when it could have been otherwise. The staff was incredible friendly and warm. They also ran our bar which worked out perfectly as well. We could not recommend this caterer enough- they really went above and beyond and we are so thankful they were a part of our day!

We worked with Karen and her amazing team including her talented head chef Tess for our wedding in Summer 2024, and I literally could not recommend them more highly. We had a complex multi-cultural wedding and we wanted to do something special for our food, so floated the idea of Korean-style rice bowls with delicious mains and tons of vegetables and sauces to Karen. To our delight, she was super energized by the idea and SKBT did everything they possibly could to ensure that our food was absolutely phenomenal and unique, down to the tiniest of details. They also made their own vegan kimchi, which my Korean family complimented highly. Over and over again we heard from our guests how the food was the best they’ve had at a wedding, and one dear friend said, “this isn’t wedding food, this is HUMAN food” which is exactly what we wanted. Karen and SKBT are competent, creative, detail-oriented, and heartful professionals and we were so excited to work with them to give our loved ones the best meal we could with our budget. Amazing!!! Everything was amazing!! The food, the service, seriously we were so lucky to work with Karen and her team. All the food was fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked. They offered us so many creative options for everything from passed hors' doeuvres to dessert - you can tell that food is really an art for this team. Hiring SKBT was one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding! I talked to Karen, the owner, and from our first conversation, she knew instinctively what I was looking for, and brought it to life beautifully on our wedding day. Mind you, I don't always know how to articulate what I want, but she was able to conjure exactly what I envisioned. Our guests are still raving about how perfectly cooked every bite was, from the appetizers to the desserts! My now-husband is also a vegetarian, and unlike many of the other caterers we talked to, this was not an obstacle for SKBT because Karen and her team have a very "can do" attitude. In fact, many of our dedicated carnivores were as impressed with the vegetarian options as the rest. Anything I asked for, SKBT did it! To top it off, I asked if they could serve pisco sour (a peruvian mixed drink) to celebrate my home country, and Karen didn't even think twice about doing it! It was so yummy, and even my super-picky peruvian family loved it. Karen was also great about communicating throughout the planning process.

On top of all of this, when it came to the wedding day itself, SKBT were amazing when it came to the logistics. Setting up, and taking down the tables and table settings was quick and efficient, and their servers were attentive and always on the ball. The logistics were a major source of stress for us, but they turned out to be a total non-issue. Shout out to chef Tess and Jules (who made our breath taking wedding cake).

I could go on and on, but I just mostly want to thank them for making our wedding day a DREAAAAAMMMMM :)! Thank you, guys! Will definitely recommend them to everyone and anyone!

SKBT is hands down the best catering you will find. They did an amazing job on my bridal shower and fantastic job on my wedding desserts. Their attention to detail, quality of food and service is unparalleled. Karen went above and beyond to accommodate me and make my bridal shower and wedding desserts special despite hiccups due to Covid. You seriously will not find better food or service. Highly recommend!!

Karen catered our wedding of about 50 guests this summer and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Karen and her staff were extremely professional and pleasant. The food was beautifully presented and tasted even better. She made our wedding day very special and we feel lucky to have found her. We highly recommend her services and would definitely use her again.

It was wonderful working with Karen and her team at SKBT. We were so excited to create a customized tapas-style menu, and the tasting was truly one of the most fun experiences we had during this planning process. So much so that even when we rescheduled the reception to 2021 we still wanted a taste of their food for the smaller wedding ceremony we had this August. The food we received exceeded our expectations and was perfect after a hot summer day.

Small Kitchen Big Taste was one of my caterers for our wedding (appetizers) and also in charge of staffing my backyard affair. Working with SKBT and Karen has been a joy from start to finish. From the moment we walked into our tasting to create our delicious menu, to last minute changes, to executing perfect food the day of, I want to relive this experience again and again. My guests raved about the menu, and some favorites included fun takes on cocktail meatballs, shrimp and grits, and chilled tomato soup shooters. The food was beautiful and displayed like it was in a magazine.

Karen and her team were also in charge of staffing my event. This meant not only did they feed my guests, but bussed the tables, cleaned up trash, set up my pie display (Karen took it upon herself to clean out her stock of cake stands and create the most beautiful tables ever) and EVEN mop my bathroom trailer when it sprung a leak. As guests started to leave, SKBT cleaned every table and organized my decor.

Best of all, Karen and her team were friendly and attentive the entire night. My bridal party had their own tray of appetizers waiting for them immediately following the ceremony, and all night the staff checked in on my husband and I (as well as my parents) to see how they could help. I eagerly look forward to having another event so I can hire this team again.

I LOVED everything that Karen put together for our appetizer cocktail hour and for our desert (PIE!) at our wedding. We chose her Farm Table option, and a selection of pies. Everything was BEAUTIFUL and delicious, and Karen was great to work with. My only regret was that I, personally, did not get to eat more of it. Our guests loved everything. I will definitely use SKBT in the future.

We are so freaking lucky that we found Karen. After being strung along by a potential caterer for 6 months (we thought we were on the same page, and we had contacted them pretty early, so we put up with a lot more than we should have) which ended when they FINALLY got us a quote that happened to be 4 times our budget (that we clearly told them. We're really curious as to how "$x, which can be stretched a little if needed" turned into $4x). This was less than 5 months before our wedding, so cue the panic. We emailed a ton of places, and one helpful one (a hero as well) wasn't available but suggested Karen with Small Kitchen, Big Taste. Within 2 weeks of losing our original candidate, and a week of initially contacting her, Karen had replied, come up with a sample menu that was literally perfect and needed no adjustments, that was in our budget (and she was transparent about all the costs, unusual and refreshing), and we'd signed the contract. It was such night and day, and such a lesson in what a good vendor looks like that we were shocked we'd talked to the other one for so long.
Karen was helpful and responsive in the days leading up, and then she and her team were fantastic day-of. They saved us food at cocktail hour when we got there late because of pictures, and the whole night everything was crazy delicious and well-presented. I had declared in advance that I wouldn't be That Bride that doesn't get to eat at their own wedding because they keep getting side-tracked and never have time, but that was unnecessary because Karen and Team checked on both of us a couple times to make sure we were taken care of. Everything was so freaking good, we got compliments all night long, and after they had packed up (which- A+ service continued there, they helped clean up the bar and dessert leavings as well, and washed a bunch of stuff, and left the food tables spotless. Definitely above and beyond), they sent us home with trays of leftovers which were greatly appreciated.
