We hired Dan Rooney as the DJ and MC for our wedding on June 6, 2026, and he was absolutely incredible.

My husband and I are both huge music nerds AND musicians, so when it came to our wedding, having THE BEST DJ was genuinely one of our top priorities. We cared so much about the music from the ceremony all the way through the last song of the night, and Dan absolutely delivered on every single part of it.

Leading up to our wedding, we met with Dan to go over everything we wanted musically. Our wedding was at Camp We Che Me, which has some specific rules and limitations surrounding sound and music, and Dan navigated all of it with ease and precision. He handled the sound for our outdoor ceremony, brought all of the equipment we needed, and even provided the lapel microphones for our officiant and for us so everyone could hear the ceremony clearly.

He also gave us a detailed music questionnaire where we could list songs we wanted to hear, the overall vibe we were going for, and—very importantly—our DO NOT PLAY list. 😂 As two people who really love music, Chris and I had so much fun filling it out and probably gave Dan way more detail than he ever needed. He listened to all of it and completely understood us.

Dan was also our MC, and he did such an amazing job keeping the wedding moving throughout the night. Between Dan and our wedding planner, Chris and I never once felt the need to look at our phones, check the timeline, or wonder what we were supposed to be doing next. We were able to just enjoy our wedding while they took care of everything happening around us.

One of our absolute favorite things Dan did was create a custom mix for our first dance. We wanted to start with a slow, sweet song and then transition into a really fun swing song, and Dan blended the two together perfectly. He even sent us the mix ahead of time, which meant Chris and I got to spend evenings in our living room practicing, laughing, and making up our wedding dance together. That became such a special memory for us before the wedding, and getting to finally dance to it on our wedding day was even better.

And then came the dance floor...

EVERY. SINGLE. SONG. WAS. A. BANGER.

You genuinely could not tear us away from the dance floor. Neither of us wanted to leave! I think I left twice the entire night—once to change my dress and once to use the bathroom. 😂 Dan completely understood our taste while also knowing exactly what would keep our guests dancing. His song choices, transitions, timing, and ability to read the room were incredible.

Even now, our guests still talk about how amazing the music was throughout our entire wedding—from the ceremony, to cocktail hour, to the reception and dancing. Dan's energy, huge smile, charisma, personality, and genuine love for music are infectious. You can tell he loves what he does, and that energy translates directly to the dance floor.

Dan Rooney is LEGENDARY.

Daniel was great from the get-go! He is timely in his responses, attentive to your music tastes and requests, and offers multiple packages to fit whatever budget you might have! He uses a comprehensive form to get all the details about your wedding and musical wants and needs, which I thought was very professional and brought reassurance to my husband and I that Daniel cared and would do a great job! He also took requests, which was definitely great so that all guests had a fun night! Also, he left a card in our card box thanking us, which was extremely thoughtful and kind! 10/10 recommended Silver State DJ!

Dan was the best DJ we could have ever asked for! He was so easy to work with, very responsive, and made our night absolutely perfect. Everyone had the best time at our wedding and if you're looking for the same thing, you need to book him ASAP!

Simply put, Dan Rooney, aka DJ Silver State, understood the assignment. From the start to the finish, Dan took the information and playlists we gave him and executed flawlessly. We have several friends who have had less success with DJ’s at weddings, but we were so happy with the creativity and coordination Dan included in making our wedding day a success. He coordinated with absolute professionalism and made sure the ceremony went off without a hitch, and that all the speakers in the ceremony could be heard. Not to mention, he’s a lot of fun and participated willingly in matching the vibe of our wedding day (shout out to the bolo tie!) We got so many compliments from guests and his mixes and transitions were on point! Thank you DJ Silver State for making our wedding an absolute success!

Dan was phenomenal to work with – he understood my (very specific) vision and made it happen. From the beginning, he was organized, professional and friendly. I didn’t have a wedding planner and I knew I could trust him to show up, communicate with the venue, and make sure the night went smoothly. He talked just enough to get everyone organized and keep the night flowing but stopped short of long cheesy speeches. I knew I wanted an actual DJ, not someone who was going to put on a Spotify playlist, and Dan created mixes and mashups specifically for our wedding that everyone loved. I can’t recommend him enough if you’re looking for a DJ who knows how to throw a party!

We had Daniel from Silver State DJ our wedding in North Lake Tahoe and he was amazing. We were able to connect with him before and discuss the vibe and the energy we were going for and he was immediately on the same level. He brought that exact same energy to the reception and delivered the best party of our lives! :)

Dan was absolutely amazing at our wedding. He was flexible, responsive and stress free. He came up with a set list that not only matched our personalities and taste in music but brought everyone out to the dance floor. His lighting and props were top notch and he was all anyone could talk about at breakfast the next morning.
I'm not much of a dancer (my new bride is the one in the relationship blessed with rhythm) but I don't think I sat down once the entire time he performed. It was like going to your favorite concert surrounded by all of your best friends. If you're fortunate enough to book him you will feel exactly the same as we did.
