Chris Watson captured stunning photographs of us during our engagement session and wedding! He has an eye for lighting, poses, and making a couple feel comfortable without feeling staged! He was warm and accommodating in the booking process, and we loved the photos we had seen on his website. However, we were slightly uneasy with some of the previous reviews that we read about him. Once we met with him in person, we came to him with these specific concerns and he was able to eliminate our worry. He was very kind and respectful. We saw his photos in real life and our decision was made. We were able to coordinate to set up a date for our engagement photos, but then as the date approached we had a lot of difficulty getting in touch with him. His listed work phone number was incorrect and he was not responding via email. We found out later that there were reasons for his lack of response – but being unfamiliar with these it did cause anxiety for us. However, he apologized and was there for our engagement session on-time and did phenomenal work. We could not be more thrilled with our photos – which is the most important part! From that point forward, Chris was much better about responding and also gave me his cell phone number which helped us to communicate more effectively. About a week before the wedding we touched base regarding the photos that I was hoping to have him take. Being the type-A bride that I was, I sent him a PowerPoint presentation broken down by locations, names, and poses that I was hoping to get. Chris handled my specifics very well (I realize I’m kinda crazy), and was amazing during the day of the wedding! He assured that among the family and wedding party photos, there was time to get some amazing shots of the two of us. He was also great with my young nephews (and allowed us to refer to him as “Tigger” to make the boys smile because he was in an orange polo shirt). Chris also posted a sneak peak of 9 of our wedding photos we could not be happier!

My wedding was in April 2015 and I still cannot talk about my horrible experience with this photographer. He duplicated color pics in black and white and counted that toward the number of pics taken. He did not take pics that I requested, had horrible background in many, left before eating or cutting of the cake....and didn't tell anyone. What a huge waster of money.

Chris Watson may take beautiful photos, but they are nothing special and certainly not worth the extremely long wait, unprofessional conduct, misleading statements, and anxiety.

When we first met, Chris assured us our pictures would take 2-3 months tops to return, and that the 6-month clause in the contract never came into play. We also had to pay in full in order to receive our photos.

Chris had our full payment up front, so once he shot the actual wedding he had no incentive to return our pictures in a timely manner. Now, 6 months after our wedding, we have called, texted, and emailed and have received exactly 2 responses, both assuring us the pictures would be coming soon. But instead of working on our pictures, Chris continued booking and shooting other clients: throughout these 6 months, he has been posting photos from other shoots on Facebook every single day - prom pics, sports pics, senior pics, family pics, and weddings. He's obviously very good at booking clients and getting their money, but is completely unprofessional in actually delivering the product.

My husband and I were two days away from our 6-month wedding anniversary and still no pictures. We were in the process of hiring a lawyer to sue Chris for breach of contract when the pictures finally arrived, two days before our contract was up. I do not believe this is a coincidence.

DO NOT pay in full prior to full service being rendered, and DO NOT sign a contract that contains something you don't like, no matter what the contractor says - having to wait half of a year for images from the biggest event of your day is AWEFUL. But it is avoidable - go with a better photographer.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
