We absolutely loved working with this band, they were by far the easiest vendor of our entire wedding! Renee was wonderful, and I truly enjoyed every interaction with her throughout planning and the day of. Our guests were raving for months afterward about how incredible the music was, and we had the best time on the dance floor. Not only were they amazing musicians, but Renee was also a fantastic Emcee. They kept the night flowing perfectly, even when our coordinator fell short and plans had to shift on the spot. They were incredibly reasonably priced and worth every penny. I can’t recommend them enough!

Exceptional describes this band not only for their voices but their exceptional customer service. Every detail was meticulous, the detail thoughout that was put into our special day. My husband and I have a love story that could be on the Hallmark channel and Renee made sure I had the wedding of my dreams. Anything I asked for, wanted or needed was done and the stress just melted off of me. Almost wish she was in the wedding coordinator business. When we walked down the isle the band sang Bruno Mars just the way you are. Everything was so perfect that the tears flowed. Tears got worse when they sang John Legend All of me. Exceptional and we had such fun dancing. Everyone is very interactive and makes for a fun entertaining night. So many guests said how much they liked the band. This band is a redo for any function. Shaded Soul played at our wedding on August 9th. They were absolutely amazing. We had their 3 piece band for the cocktail hour and then the entire 8 piece band for the reception. We were blown away by their talent. Our guests were on the dance floor all night and we never wanted it to end. Renee was so much help throughout the entire wedding process. SO many of our guests reached out to know who our band was. If you're considering booking them, DO IT!

Shaded Soul Band brought the party to life. Excellent quality and more than willing to work within our budget. Renee, the band leader, was so accommodating and laid back. She showed sincere interest in making sure that we got everything we wanted from the day. Shaded Souls was even willing to learn new music to play for the wedding and made perfect recommendations for music throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. We have been complimented many times on how great the wedding was and a large part of the compliment goes directly to this band.

Having Shaded Soul Band play at our wedding was the best decision we made! From the start, Renee was responsive and ensured our day would go smoothly with her team. She DJ'd our songs for the ceremony, had a trio play for cocktail hour, and her 8 piece band play the night away for our reception! Everyone could not stop commenting on how great the band was, and we had a blast with them! They played everything from the oldies, jazz, classic rock, 2000s, today's hits. When we first watched their demo tapes and met with Renee, we knew that Shaded Soul was going to be good, however "good" turned out to be a vast underestimate. Shaded Soul was nothing short of AMAZING on our wedding day! The dance floor was packed all night and the vibes were through the roof, thanks to both the music itself and Renee's charismatic integration with the crowd. At the farewell breakfast the following morning, all anyone could talk about was Shaded Soul. Multiple guests even asked me for Renee's contact information so that they could try to book Shaded Soul for their own weddings or other events.
In the months prior to their incredible performance at our wedding, we worked closely with Renee, which could not have been easier or more of a pleasure...we already miss chatting with her! What truly makes her and Shaded Soul great is their devotion to making sure that you get everything you imagined (and more), down to the very last and minute detail. Renee promptly responded with answers to all of our many questions and requests as they came up, with grace and charm, always willing to call us or join a last-minute zoom when email/text were not suitable. No question was too silly and every request, for which we had a number of, was met with a "yes", no matter how particular or specialized they were.
Shaded Soul did not just accommodate our song requests, some of which they learned specifically for us, beautifully into the setlist for the masterful performance. They also turned a small dream of ours into a reality, which was for me (groom) to join the band on guitar for my wife's dance with her father. They learned a very specific cover version of the song we wanted, and Renee met with me several times to go over the arrangement and the parts I would play. As an amateur musician who has never performed for an audience before, I was nervous a few days before the wedding and called Renee. She answered immediately and let me play my guitar parts over the phone for her, where she assured me it sounded great but also noted with her sharp ears that my guitar tuning was not in key with the song! On the wedding day, I simply showed up with my guitar and gave it to Shaded Soul's audio-tech. A few hours later when it was time for the father-daughter dance, my guitar was finely re-tuned and plugged-in with the band. It went perfectly and was without a doubt one of the best experiences of our lives, all thanks to Renee and Shaded Soul.
There are countless examples from the day of the wedding, and prior, we could share to further illustrate the wonderful experience Shaded Soul was. One of the crowd favorites was, towards the end of the night as Shaded Soul was packing up, when my friends forced me onto the stage where my guitar was still plugged in and made me play. In a panic, I started playing "Enter Sandman" by Metallica when all of the sudden, Shaded Soul's drummer (who by the way, may be a musical prodigy) went back to her kit and started playing along perfectly with the song! It was a surprise to everyone and got the dance floor completely re-ignited for one last bang to close out the night. We transitioned into "Back In Black" by AC/DC and what is truly great is that, even though it was after-hours for the band and venue, all eight musicians and the audio-tech stopped packing up and let this spontaneous event happen.
In short, Renee and Shaded Soul were the perfect choice and, looking back, we can't imagine the wedding with anyone else. They are a big reason, if not the biggest, why the wedding was the amazing night that we will never forget. All eight members were exceptional musicians and performers, seemingly with no limitations on the genres and time-periods of music they can master. If we had to do it all over again, there isn't a thing we would change. Both my wife and I are keeping Renee's number, because the next time we need to plan an event like this, Shaded Soul will without a doubt be our first call.

We contracted for Rene Prescott to provide d.j. services for our son's wedding. It was a phenomenal choice. Rene provided so much more than d.j. services. She followed up and reminded us of timeliness, knew the facility, provided necessary details about lighting, gave us the necessary time to make decisions, asked the appropriate questions, and gave all involved the freedom to make requests. So our experience before the event was ideal. Then she surpassed all expectations at the event. She arrived in plenty of time to complete her set up and help the caterer s with necessary details about timing of the cake, etc. She even held coats for those of us who were running outside for quick pictures in the challenging weather. Her music choices were exactly what we requested. But most impressive was her action as an additional wedding planner who helped us be conscious of all the small important details. The ceremony and reception exceeded all expectations. She is the best choice for your music wedding needs.

Renee was so great to work with and made us feel at ease going into our big day. Our guests are still raving about how incredible the band was and the fun vibe they brought to the dance floor. I can’t recommend them enough!
