Hello Lads & Ladies,
Based in Belmont, North Carolina. Say "Aye Do" Weddings provides one-of-a-kind wedding officiant services. My service gives you a wedding to remember by including “Scottish” traditions! I guarantee that everyone will be talking about your special occasion from the start of the ceremony to the final dance. From the Quiach to hand fasting your ceremony will be unique and enriched with Scottish culture.
Use the opportunity to include the "Quaich" pronounced (Cuach) into your ceremony. A sterling silver two handled cup that will be used to drink from for the first toast as a married couple. This is an Ancient Scottish tradition that seals the bond in marriage and unites the two families together.
Another fun and enriching ceremony is the "Handfasting" ceremony. This ceremony is symbolized with wrapping a decorative cord, Tartan cloth, or ribbon around each others hands to help visualize the union of two people. Traditionally this is where the Bride would be given the Grooms Tartan "cloth" that represents family.
Sixpence is another tradition that is popular in a Scottish ceremony. A Sixpence coin is placed in the Bride's left shoe before the ceremony. This coin is used to symbolize good luck, fortune and happiness in the marriage. As the poem goes; Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue and the Bride placed a Sixpence in her left shoe.
The Unity Candle symboizes two clans joining together.
White Heather is also known as a token of good luck. This is a Scottish flowering plant that is often used as part of the flower bouquets, boutonnieres, or table deocrations.
Each wedding ceremony or vow renewal, will be unique to you, your family and your guest. This is an exciting day to be celebrated in style. You have many options! Let me help you create the ceremony that others will envy!
I look foward to hearing from you and help to make your Special moment filled with a lifetime of Scottish memories!! Come Say, "AYE DO" with me Laird Michael Sean.
