Rushwood Barn
"From the second we started working with Lauren at the Rushwood barn the entire experience has been..."
"Yes, my wedding isn't until July of 2027. When I first walked in and met Lauren she was full of so..."
About this venue
Rushwood Barn sits on a private hilltop in Rush, New York, about 20 minutes south of Rochester and less than five minutes from the expressway. Once you are out on the back deck looking over the valley, you would never guess how close you are to everything.
Saturday weddings here are not a day rental. Your group checks into the onsite guest house Thursday, with time to settle in, rehearse, set up, and enjoy the property before the wedding day. The weekend is part of the experience.
The Barn
Built in 1907, the barn still has its original timber beams, wide plank floors, soaring ceilings, a custom chandelier above the main floor, a built-in bar, and a loft lounge overlooking the dance floor. It is a real historic structure, not a new build made to look rustic.
The barn seats up to 170 for dinner with space for a full dance floor and bar service. Ceremonies can take place indoors or outside, including on the hilltop deck with open views over the valley and rolling hills toward Lima and Bristol.
The Guest House
This is where most people's expectations change.
The guest house is attached to the property, just steps from the barn. It has five bedrooms, a full kitchen with granite countertops and a gas range, a large open living area with a fireplace and smart TV, and a wraparound deck overlooking the valley.
Then there is the spa room, with a sunken hot tub, infrared sauna, standalone rinse shower, built-in bar, travertine tile throughout and laundry on-site. The guest house is more like a private boutique stay built into your wedding weekend.
Bedrooms include quality bedding, individual comfort controls, and room-darkening blinds. The master suite includes a tiled walk-in shower, dual stone vessel sinks, and a dedicated makeup vanity. Towels, toiletries, hair dryers, and a washer and dryer are onsite, so the practical things you need on wedding weekend are already here.
Your closest people stay Thursday through Sunday morning. Five bedrooms, five queen beds. Floor space for whoever else needs a spot.
For guests not staying onsite, there is a hotel about six minutes away and several more within ten.
Outdoor Spaces
Rushwood has ten private acres, an elevated ceremony deck, open lawn space, and a Victorian-style white gazebo with paver walkways and professional landscaping.
The deck and gazebo are both ceremony-ready. The deck also works well for rehearsal dinners, cocktail hour, and quiet moments outside during the weekend. The gazebo photographs the way you would hope.
