Our wedding at the River Park Wisconsin was nothing short of perfect.
The owners, Steve and Nancy, were by our side with clear direction and answers from the day we booked our wedding date. We were able to come look at the venue multiple times prior to the wedding to get a better idea of what we wanted to do by the way of decorations. Nancy was incredibly helpful in showing how tables would be arranged to accommodate our wedding party, family, and guests. They allow 2 hours on the day before your wedding to come in and decorate – they will allow more time if requested! They also allow time the day after your wedding to come and take your decorations down and do final clean-up. The staff was great and started taking down and gathering our items for us the night of the wedding so that we didn’t have as much to do the day after. Everything was neatly organized and set aside making the tear down so incredibly easy.
The venue itself is beautiful and spacious making it easy to accommodate many people for an outdoor wedding. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the River Park with provide a large tent at an extra cost. They were able to allow up until the day before the wedding to determine if we needed the tent or not. The ceremony itself took place on a grassy area with the Milwaukee River as the backdrop. The venue provided a beautiful arbor for us to get married under. We were able to decorate the arbor however we liked to match the theme of the wedding. For the reception, we had plenty of room for our 170 guests to gather, play yard games, and dance the night away without feeling crowded. The section set-up for the DJ was more that big enough, we even were able to have karaoke set-up with plenty of space for dancing.
The menu options are clearly laid out with the price per guest based on the menu that you select. With so many moving pieces to a wedding, the fact that the venue assists in coordinating the catering was a huge help. We selected the big roast and it was INCREDIBLE. We received so many compliments on how delicious the food was. Nancy was able to coordinate with the caterer just weeks before the wedding to accommodate a vegetarian meal for a handful of our guests. I was impressed that this was so easily handled. On our wedding day, we had a cookie buffet in lieu of cake, and the staff was watching to make sure that the cookie jars were always full so our guests could enjoy them!
We definitely recommend the River Park for a wedding!
