I cannot say enough great things about Darren and Erin! We got our engagement and wedding photos through them and they turned out better than I could have imagined. I was nervous to get a photographer that would make things awkward... but it was nothing like that. They are friendly, kind, informative, and a ton of fun (our 20 person bridal party agreed)! Above all they were the most professional people I had the pleasure of dealing with throughout the wedding process. Everything was upfront and honest, which I appreciated. We had multiple consultations in person before the big day and they even checked with me the night of the wedding before they left to make sure they got everything I wanted. Not to mention that for our Nov 30th wedding, they got us our pictures BEFORE Christmas so we could enjoy them with our family during the holidays.
They were the absolute best and I would give Rising Star Photography 500 stars if I could!

If you want the long version: I met Darren and Erin in 2019 at the IX Center wedding show. I locked eyes with Erin while being in a state of sheer exhaustion from the overwhelming wedding show and feeling defeated because I wasn’t finding any vendors that I felt good about. Once I started talking to Erin my experience there changed as she was able to give me a rundown of how they operated in such a relaxed way without being pushy at all. I knew right then that I wanted them to be our photographers. My husband, Sam, and I ended up scheduling our first meeting with Darren and Erin to see if we would book them, but again, I already knew I was going to and I knew I didn’t even need to consult with any other photographers! While Sam, Erin and I were at the first meeting we learned that Darren got into a car accident on his way to us. Erin was able to continue to be so professional and calm and talked us through wedding details. Then Darren actually ended up still coming to our meeting after the car accident and it was like nothing happened! He gave us so much of his time going over so many details of how they operated, examples of his work, and what we should expect on the wedding day from them. Our first wedding date was scheduled in September 2020 and we had to make the hard decision to postpone due to the pandemic. I knew I still had to have them be my photographers and luckily they had a date available in October 2021. Throughout the years of waiting until we could finally get married Darren would regularly check in with us to see how things were going or if we had any questions. Finally it was 2021 and we got to schedule our wedding day preparation meeting with Darren at the location where we wanted our first look photos to be taken. Again, Darren spent so much time with us going over the wedding details which included the timeline, previewing the first look spot, reviewing our family details and any pictures we wanted to be taken. Darren also had such good ideas about wedding day details and is such a good resource. He ended up telling us about a beautiful local nature preservation area that we could do as another photo shoot location on the wedding day. We ended up booking that location and loved it and got so many good wedding party shots. On the wedding day Darren and Erin were spectacular: on time, organized, funny, kept us on schedule and were so personable that our entire wedding party and family members felt very at ease being around them and having their pictures taken. They also made us feel very comfortable during our first look photos and took it very slow and allowed us to be in the moment and I really did feel like it was just me and Sam even though they were right there taking pictures. The first look location was where Sam and I grew up together and it was great that it was just the four of us getting some amazing pictures that we will cherish forever. Darren and Erin also stayed late at our reception and got so many good action shots of the wedding guests while we were all dancing. Once the wedding day is over, Darren will have your pictures available for you on his website and it couldn't be simpler and you actually get ALL of your pictures released to you that you can download yourself. Overall, we don't have one single grumble. We are going to absolutely have Darren take future family photos! :)

Darren and Erin with Rising Star Photography were so easy to work with and provided us with the most beautiful pictures from our engagement and wedding. They prepared us what to expect and plan for on our wedding day and were always available for questions and advice. Packages were great and reasonable. My husband Jim and I stumbled across Darren and Erin working their magic at a friends wedding where Jim was a groomsman. After seeing the pictures, I instantly knew I needed to hire them for my wedding that following year. As I got married in Oct 2020 (COVID bride), Darren made the planning process so easy as we could not meet in person. They made my wedding party feel so comfortable while be photographed which meant the world to me. If you are looking for a photographer who will go above and beyond to make sure you get the most important poses and captures all the special moments of the day. I HIGHLY recommend Darren and Erin!

Planning a wedding in a pandemic is not the easiest endeavor, but Darren and Erin helped make photographs such a simple part of our day, freeing up our mental bandwidth to focus on other things, like actually getting married. Darren and Erin, in addition to having names that rhyme, are super personable and professional. We had friends and family ask if Darren and Erin were friends or relatives with the great rapport we had built up. We had a great time during the actual photo shoots, and Darren and Erin helped it to be fun. They did a great job of preparing and helping us to prepare for what to expect on our day to help keep things moving and seamless. Although we had a limited reception this year, next year we are planning a larger reception and are excited to work with Rising Star Photography again.

I cannot recommend Rising Star Photography enough! Erin and Mackenzie were our photographers (as Darren was shooting a family wedding the same day), and Darren was our editor. The entire Rising Star team has been so wonderful and we loved working with them! They were very helpful and  accommodating when we had to reschedule our original 2020 wedding date to 2021. *Darren/Rising Star was the only one of our vendors who called me instead of the other way around when covid was first happening and we had to figure out how to proceed, which was very thoughtful and greatly appreciated.* Erin was our main photographer day of and she worked so hard to make sure everything went smoothly and did such an amazing job (all while making it look easy)! She had the best advice and ideas, and helped make our day so stress free and fun! We absolutely loved working with her, as well as with Mackenzie. (Our families and bridal party all loved them as well!) We received over 600 photos in both color and black and white and they are all STUNNING. We are so happy with how the photos turned out and will cherish them forever. We have also received so many compliments on the photos from friends and family. We also love that we and our friends/family are able to easily download all of the photos without any watermarks or charges. Once again, I cannot recommend Rising Star Photography enough. The entire team is extremely genuine and great at what they do, which is the perfect combination. I also want to mention that I think their prices are very reasonable compared to other photographers, especially when you consider the high quality and extremely personal touch of service we received leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day, as well as the quantity/quality of the pictures received. You will not be disappointed if you book them, they are one of the main reasons our wedding day turned out to be absolutely perfect!!
