Had a second wedding reception here. Food was top quality and delicious. Room was bright and clean. Restrooms not the cleanest.

We had our big Chinese wedding at Oakland's Restaurant Peony, in the heart of Chinatown. We booked for 30 tables in advance and ended up using only 27 of them. The manager was relatively friendly, and allowed us to make changes up to the day. The restaurant does not have sound equipment, so we had to hire a DJ that would bring their own stuff. They also charge extra for a dance floor, so if you want that, you should ask in advance. Lastly, food was really good. We had the 9 course meal that cost $578 each table (10 persons) and received good responses all around. The lobster dish and the sea bass was amazingly good. Sure enough, there was shark fin soup. Pretty good overall.
