Our food was absolutely delicious. It was fresh tasting and summery, not heavy, and subject to changes to the last minute. We had a number of guests with particular food allergies, and Cora listed all of the ingredients for all of the dishes for guests who cared. She met with us any time we wanted and emailed quickly for any question. We loved all of it.

We used this venue for my daughter's wedding reception in July 2010. Rebecca was professional and flexible with any needs that we had. She even arranged for a private "bridal" room for my daughter to change in after the wedding. The staff was more than helpful and flexible. I had no complaints from this venue and our guests loved the beautiful ballroom. It even has little white lights around the windows and beautiful chandeliers that you can dim. We also put wall lighting (burgundy) which went well with the burgundy overlay on the ceiling and the burgundy chairs and brick wall. If you're into catering your own event, they also allow that for a minimal fee. They were great to work with and I will use them again for any future events. We had a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Reed. Because it is such a beautiful venue on its own, very little decorating was necessary (just table decorating). Rebecca was extremely helpful and had very good ideas and suggestions. She suggested the pedi-cabs, where to put signs showing guests where to go, etc. The Reed and its staff were very easy to work with as far as scheduling rental drop offs, allowing us in before the wedding to look at the space, where to place the tables, and use of the kitchen. I especially enjoyed the fact that we were able to do the food ourselves and use the kitchen for a small extra fee.

We had our wedding at the Reed Opera House. A beautiful venue and a wonderful location in the heart of downtown Salem. We were lucky enough to be able to get in the day before the wedding and set up. They have someone onsite during the work day which was very helpful and let us see the Ballroom as much as we needed to. Overall, a fantastic wedding venue for up to 260 guests!

Everyone thought that the place looked beautiful! The only thing that I would've have changed was the chairs, they were a bit outdated and some were broke. However the place was prompt to fix the ones that were last minute.

It was beautiful, however you may want to invest in your own chairs, many of theirs were broken. But we had so much cleaning to do they did allow my parent's to come back in the morning to finish!

I made several appointments to meet with the office staff to discuss our event, tour the room, etc. On two of the appointments the coordinator and her office aide were not there and I had to call and re-schedule. However, on the day of the even staff that work on weekends to unlock rooms, etc were incredibly helpful and made things easy.

Beautiful space but me and my fiancé had to find a new venue because she tacked on more expenses when she never disclosed them to us until we brought them to her attention. She was so unprofessional, terrible management and straight up rude. She never took her time on going over the contract with us because she over booked herself, made us wait an hour then only had 5 minutes with her. We were supposed to have a deal that she had going in April for the whole weekend for $3,500. She later told us 7 months out from our wedding that we didn’t have it and it would be an additional $500 on top of $150 per hour for per security that she never disclosed with us. Any time I had questioned she would only answer them halfa** and wasn’t very clear at all, sometimes she would takes days to respond or wouldn’t call you back when you were told she would call you. So we decided to look for a new venue and when I told her we would like to cancel because how she keep tacking more expenses on and her management/ communications wasn’t great. She got pissy and said that if we just found a different venue then just say so instead of saying she had bad communication or management because she didn’t feel like she did. I heard great things about this venue until I became a bride and started working with her. I would steer clear from this place if you’re a Salem OR Bride.
