Rabbi Meredith Cahn is a wedding officiant in Petaluma, California, who specializes in Jewish wedding ceremonies. I weave Jewish traditions with the personal elements of each couple into a unique and meaningful ceremony. I approach each couple and ceremony with respect and honor for culture, beliefs, and other intimate values. I pay special attention to including wedding guests who may or may not be Jewish.
In my over 100 weddings, most are interfaith, and several have been co-officiated with clergy of other traditions or religions, including Hindu priests, Protestant ministers, and Catholic priests. In those—as in all weddings—it is important to me that no one lies under the chuppah, so everyone is represented as authentically as possible.
I explain all the rituals so that both you and your guests can access the spiritual depths they represent and present the love you share.
Services Offered
I personalize each ceremony experience by meeting multiple times with each couple to know and understand your story and desires for the ceremony. I am available to perform officiating services for vow renewals, civil unions, non-religious, single-religion, and interfaith ceremonies. As a rabbi, I am a licensed wedding officiant.

She was very up front about what parts of the ceremony were non-negotiable and which parts were flexible. Any time that I raised concerns about any part of the ceremony design, Rabbi Meredith tried to understand the reasoning behind those concerns, and then either agreed with me to change the ceremony or explained why we should keep things as-is and convinced me! I had initially been skeptical about the officiant’s address, but on the day of, I loved it: I was cracking up at how she wove our words together, and I thought the message that she added to tie it all together was beautiful.
Rabbi Meredith was also a huge hit among our guests, especially the non-Jews! I think they really appreciated her explanations for each of the customs. So many people came up to us during the reception and were raving about her. Thanks again to Rabbi Meredith for making our ceremony so special.
