I live in Chicago but got married in Scottsdale. I had hair and make-up appointments at 2 different locations when I found a Groupon for Primp and Blow - I loved that they provided both hair and make-up under one roof which would make my wedding day less chaotic. I also appreciated that they offered 50% off of bridal hair/make-up trials on Tues/Thursday.

For my trial, Vivianne and Kai made a special trip in just for me. Although they were 45min late (yes, I know!), I did appreciate that they took the time out of their off day to come in. I ended up walking out of the salon feeling comfortable with my up-do and make-up.

On the day of my wedding, they were super accommodating for me and my matron of honor. They had turkey wraps and mango mimosas (amazing!) which helped calm the pre-wedding jitters.

All in all, I would go back to Primp and Blow.

Myself and a few bridesmaid for our hair done here and I got my makeup done. The hair and makeup turned out beautiful. I was very happy with how quickly they got us all in, and all at the same time. We weren't waiting around for the other to finish. Although expensive, they were the cheapest I found when researching, and was very happy with the turnout. It was a little difficult getting ahold of a specific person there because they would forward calls to other locations when busy. This was good for when we were in there and our beautician didn't keep having to leave to answer the phone, but she also didn't get any of the messages we had left when calling.

I went to Primp and Blow with my 4 bridesmaids and my mother for our wedding day hair and makeup. I don't really know what to make of my experience... it was good and bad.

My stylist started working on my hair without it being washed. I had to remind her it was a wash and blow out and she seemed irritated that we had to do this. She was not friendly at all. Huge disappointment. Wish I could remember her name! She finished curling and it just looked bland to me. I went off to get my makeup done and when I was finished I asked another stylist if she would tease it and make it big and gorgeous. She managed to do just that, and I couldn't have been happier. It looked amazing!

It took a little longer than they had told us it would. I expected that for a bridal party that they could make us a priority since we only had 4 hours to get all the hair and makeup done. I had to remind them several times that we needed to get going on my bridesmaids' hair/makeup. We ran way over on time and I was a stressed out bride, but we definitely looked stunning leaving the salon. Fashionably late I guess?

Our makeup was great...no complaints. Hair turned out great on everyone also. I would definitely go back to this salon but I would avoid the stylist I had.

I brought my bridal party to the Hayden location. The services that we received from the people that actually did our hair and makeup did a great job. My issue was with the manager who worked there. She was very unprofessional and did not listen to any of my concerns. When I made my appointments I specifically told them that I am only paying for makeup and that some of my ladies with be getting their hair done on their own and that I do not want their hair to go under my contract. Well needless to say she did not care about this and I ended up paying for the hair too, when I told the manager that I was not suppose to pay for the hair she just gave me a smug smirk and said, "What you want me to refund you the money, and have them pay for it?" and then she laughed like it was something ridiculous to do. One of my bridesmaids actually had walk away because she could not take how the manager was talking down to and treating me. On top of that when I went for my trial I was told that eyelashes are included ($15 value, but they are ardelle brand that you can get at walgreen for $5) but I could upgrade to the Mink Winks and just pay the difference. Well when on the day of my wedding I upgraded they charged by the full amount $35 and when I asked the manager about this charge she told me that, that is not how it is done and that there is nothing that can be done about it, really? Come on I was a manger in customer service once and every manager knows that if a customer was told something by one of your employees you need to honor it, but nope obviously this manager has no clue. She was extremely unprofessional and she is the reason that I will never return to this establishment even though my services by Briana were great I loved my makeup and hair!

Stay away! Rude staff, rude management, bad service.

Primp and Blow seems like it would be a nice blow out salon... but it is a horrible place and fails to deliver. I brought my girlfriend in for a blowout and paid for the service. While at the shampoo bowl my girlfriend told the stylist how she wanted her hair blown out to which the stylist replied in a rude tone "We specialize in extensions... I get it." The stylist then proceeded to use conditioner on her scalp which loosens the tape on the extensions. In the chair she did not dry it properly and ended up not only pulling out multiple extensions, but ripping out her real hair in the process. For 2 hours she sat there extremely upset and in pain following the service. She was furious, and a headache and it ruined our night out.

I called the store every day for 4 days requesting a callback from the managers and they never did. Finally I spoke with Melodi and requested a refund on the service... she only would give me a credit only if I send in pictures and have my girlfriend come back in. I then called back and spoke with Vivian who echoed her partner and went on to say that my girlfriend is not a great longtime customer because she was only a member for 3 months. This was not about the $65, it was about the principle. They are really after the quick buck here... and don't seem to care about longevity as a business. They must be really hurting as a business if they can't offer unhappy customers a refund to save themselves from creating enemies in the field. I will make sure I tell every female I run across never to go near their salon again... as long as I live in Scottsdale.
