About
I LOVE ART! I have taken art classes in some form or another since I was about 6 years old. My electives in school were always fine arts and choir, and when I got to college, I continued taking as many art classes as my schedule would permit...which was A LOT! I graduated from LSU with a General Studies degree with minors in Psychology, Sociology, and Photography. I have always been drawn in by the emotion created by art. In my time as a photographer, I always tried to capture the spirit of my subject, not just their image. I mean, what’s the point if the piece doesn’t tell a story or make you feel something? Fast forward 14 years and three kids later, my friend Renata and I were talking about our mutual love of flowers and decided we would take Floristry classes together at UL in the Continuing Education Department. Four courses later, it was time to take the state licensing exam. By this point I was more confident in my abilities. I felt real live actual JOY when I was putting together arrangements. I felt a sense of excitement and possibility! I felt it was time for me to go big or go home, and made the decision to open a new business. With a lot of help from family and friends, we picked the name Posh Bouquet. I didn’t just want it to be a flower “shop” though. It is an art studio...a space for creating. I am truly my happiest in my studio, among all the flowers, singing at the top of my lungs, and putting together floral arrangements. I would love to help you share your love and joy on your wedding day!
