My husband and I knew that we wanted a pretty traditional, religious ceremony but also didn’t want to be constrained by the ceremonies of our religious denominations. Our planner recommended Phil and he was exactly what we were looking for. We worked with him to design a ceremony that had all the elements we were looking for but really felt like we were represented well. He added just the right amount of levity to the ceremony but treated it very much as a serious affair. We couldn’t have imagined a better officiant for the most important part of our wedding!

Phil was so wonderful to work with! We especially appreciated how flexible he was in terms of planning the ceremony itself - my husband and I were able to completely design and write our ceremony ourselves (with the help of a few templates that he provided), and we were so pleased with the results. The ceremony was so personalized and really felt like "us." Phil was so kind and patient with us and our families during our rehearsal time, and helped us to feel at ease and comfortable during the actual ceremony. I found Phil through a website called sacred ground. We met with him in Charlottesville after we talked and he was wonderful. He's very laid back and easy going and was more than willing to wed us. The rehearsal the day before and the wedding ceremony went off wonderfully.
