Petonito’s Pastry Shop is a specialty wedding cake service and bakery in East Haven, Connecticut. As one of the very few authentic Italian pastry shops in New Haven, this bakery is ideal for unique, unconventional wedding cakes and desserts. Since 1954 they have made over an estimated 25,000 wedding cakes, and continue to treat couples with delicious, beautifully designed cakes. Petonito’s Pastry Shop offers custom-designed wedding cakes and delicious Italian pastries for all tastes and budgets. Their custom wedding cakes can be made from fondant or buttercream frosting and with a variety of flavors. Tastings are provided for all wedding desserts and cakes. Petonito’s Pastry Shop also offers cupcakes, cannoli and cookie trays, and a variety of Italian mini pastries.

Most delicious cake I’ve ever had

My husband does not like cake and he could not get enough of this cake. Price was fair and people were so kind. They will follow your vision to a tee so have all your ideas and decorations ready. We wanted simple and were worried more about flavor and boy did they deliver flavor!!

Amazing cake!

The cake tasting was such a fun experience here! The cake was delicious and all guests raved about it! The design came out amazing and just as I imagined. The bakery was included with my venue and I'm so glad it was!!! Yummy!

Most delicious cake!

I had an idea in mind of what I wanted, which changed when I found out they don't do fondant cakes. But they were still able to do the colors I wanted, the ombre design, and the most delicious cake! We had one layer of chocolate cake and one layer of confetti cake (which is my absolute favorite). It was so personalized and no fondant meant everyone got to enjoy every last bit of cake on their plate! This bakery is part of wedding traditions in my family and they were so flexible, affordable, and easy to work with.

Excellent service and great taste!

Petonito's was FANTASTIC!! We booked Petonito's as part of a package with our venue and it was so nice having a vendor that was so familiar with our venue. Our cake was made exactly how we had envisioned and the staff was so kind (they gave us complimentary cookies when we booked!). We had two different flavors in our cake and our guests really loved both! Additionally, we had bought two birthday cakes because we had a couple of birthdays at our wedding and those were also beautiful and special. The cakes were great and the service was attentive; I would highly recommend Petonito's!

Delicious and beautiful

Upon seeing our wedding cake for the first time, I was incredibly pleased to see how beautiful it looked. From the purple ribbon wrapped around the bottom layers to the white roses scattered throughout, it was stunning. Once we opened up the cake, the funfetti cake and strawberry filling took it over the top! Thank you for a delicious addition to our wedding day!

We held our wedding at Amarante's Sea Cliff. The package there includes a wedding cake from Petonito's Pastry Shop. So we went to Petonito's Pastry Shop to pick a flavor. Mark was very nice and helpful. He let us try five different flavors which were actually all very impressive. After quite a discussion, we narrowed down to two flavors and Mark offered to make the two flavors separately into the three tiers of the cake. This was very helpful because our guests could choose the one that they prefer. Our guests enjoyed the cake very much! The design of the cake was also wonderful! It looks very elegant in our photos.

Our cake was beautiful - the "vision" we had for our wedding cake was interpreted perfectly. We barely ate any because we were so busy dancing, but our guests raved about how delicious it was! We will, for sure, be ordering cakes for our "life events" in the future. Thanks for making our dream cake!
