We lost count how many times one of our guests told us it was the best music they've heard at a wedding. My wife and I had a very specific vision going into our wedding, wanting to center our playlist around disco, house and electronic music. We met with a lot of DJs and as soon as we met with Kayla + Andrew we knew they were the best ones to bring that vision to life.

They also helped curate two wind instrumentalists (saxophone and trumpet) to accompany his DJ Set and they were top-notch talent. It was such an additive element to our night and our guests loved it! Everything on our big day went perfectly, our guest had so much fun, and the Party Proper team was nothing but exceptional throughout.

I hired Kayla and Andrew at Party Proper Productions for our wedding ceremony and reception AV. They were simply amazing to work with and helped make our special day a huge success! They were very responsive when I reached out over email and provided a very fast turn around on the quote. The quote was very fair and reasonable. Kayla was very communicative throughout the process and accommodating to my requests.

On event day, everything worked out flawlessly and the sound was incredible for our ceremony (including a violinist) and our reception. I work in events for a living and know sound can often go haywire and it's truly a feat when there's no hiccups so I was very happy with the services they provided.

We love the team at Party Proper for making our wedding day dreams a reality! We had a relatively small restaurant reception and after-party at a local bar, and they hooked us up with a fantastic Spanish-style guitarist during the dinner portion and a great DJ for our after-party. I honestly don't even remember all of the songs that were played, just that we had so much fun on the dance floor and everyone enjoyed themselves. The DJ also took requests, much to the fanfare of our ABBA-loving parents and our techno-loving friends. It was the perfect mix of oldies, crowd-pleasers, and niche favorites. The mixes on their site are a great indicator of their different styles, which they are of course able to customize based on whatever your preferences are. We gave them pretty much free reign over the music - after the stress of planning everything else for the wedding, the last thing we wanted to do was come up with a reception playlist, but the DJ was great at reading the crowd and keeping the energy up. We got compliments from everyone on the entertainment and would absolutely work with them again in the future!

My husband and I hired Party Proper for our wedding in May 2022 and they absolutely made our dream wedding what it was!! Music was a top priority for us so we wanted to get it right. Andrew was our DJ, and Party Proper partners with Brett Hunter and other live musicians who we included in our package as well. Brett is an AMAZING singer and guitarist (he was on The Voice!) and brought a perfect acoustic vibe to our ceremony and cocktail hour. It was magical walking down the aisle with my dad to Brett's voice, and we got so many compliments from guests about how talented Brett was.

Andrew killed the DJing during the reception and read the room PERFECTLY. He played all the right songs. One of the best decisions we made for our music was having the DJ paired with live musicians (saxophone and drums) and there were several moments during the reception where the sax player captivated the crowd's energy and made everyone go wild. We loved the DJ/live music combo because it allowed us to have the versatility of an expert DJ with the energy of a live band. I highly, highly recommend that combo - it was the best dance party ever. My aunt even said, "I've never seen anyone attack the dance floor at a wedding like they did at yours!" Guests I never thought would be on the dance floor were gettin' down the whole night. And of course, my husband and I had an absolute BLAST the whole night and didn't leave the dance floor once! It was the wedding of our dreams and the most memorable night - we will never forget it (people are still talking about it 5 months later!). I think we've heard more positive feedback from our guests on the entertainment than on any other piece of the wedding.

Party Proper, Brett, and team were so much more than we could have even imagined. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention how EASY it was to work with Kayla, who coordinated everything leading up to our wedding. She was responsive, knowledgeable, friendly, chill, and super on top of things. Party Proper was one of our vendors that was the easiest to work with and made the process so seamless and enjoyable. We were so excited about Party Proper & Brett from the get-go and everyone absolutely surpassed our expectations. Thank you, Party Proper, Brett, and team!!

The last iteration of our wedding (covid-cancelled) was going to be 100 people with a live 7 piece funk band. We wanted the same impact with a DJ for our down-sized micro wedding of 35. When we were brainstorming vendors for a DJ for with our wedding planner, we knew that wanted the same vibe that would make our intimate reception really feel like an epic dance party. He recommended Party Proper, mentioning that they offered options to add live instruments to accompany the DJ... we were sold.

We set up a call with Kayla and described our vision, and she totally got it and who were were. It was important to us to have a more timeless musical experience that would excite the grandparents too, not a bunch of "viral" tik-tok hits. We worked on a shared Spotify playlist so they got a sense of the journey we wanted to take our guests on, and had them cover music from the Ceremony, to Cocktail Hour, through Dinner, and then added a Saxophonist to accompany the DJ for the Reception.
Holy cow were we completely blown away!
The ceremony transitions were clean, the dinner playlist was what steakhouse jazz dreams are made of, and the way Andrew (DJ) and Evan (Sax) performed together was incredible. Having a sax accompaniment added a textural element to the music that made it feel like bands from the 50's were right there performing live for us. Everyone danced all night, and we still hear from our friends and family about how incredible the music was, raving about not only the music selection, but how great the flow and energy was, and how unexpected and brilliant it was to have a live instrument paired with a DJ. They riffed together seamlessly. We're still not over how amazing it was! We'd highly recommend them for an event of any size.

Unimpressed. For the prices they charge you really just get a hired human to play a playlist. No MC'ing. If you do not have a coordinator to stay on top of their DJ's your wedding day might be missing speeches, wrong songs being played for wrong dances. Song transitions for processional and recessional had timing issues and choppy transitions. Sad to say this but do not use them for your wedding if music means a lot to you and you expected an MC and for the right music to play at the right times for certain things.
