We used Paracel as our caterers offsite at our venue in Palm Springs and we couldn't be happier! Matt was our main point of contact and he was very responsive and was always willing to accommodate special requests. Many people came up to us and said it was the best wedding food they've had and we couldn't agree more! It went off without a hitch and the servers they had were also so nice and great at their job. Overall, would highly recommend them as a caterer for your wedding! The price was also very reasonable compared to some other family-style asian caterers we reached out to!

We had a very large Vietnamese wedding (400 guests) at a faraway venue. Paracel was able to come and build out their own kitchen and still produce top-notch food. One of the things I was most worried about was my guests enjoying the food, but on the day of, there was nothing to worry about at all. Everyone loved all the courses! They took notes from the tasting very seriously and adjusted accordingly. I am very pleased by how above and beyond Linh went to make sure the day went smoothly. Thank you!

Without a doubt, the best wedding caterer! When we were planning our wedding (at an off-site venue), we were debating between the best known in the business such as Furiwa, Seafood World, and about 4 others. My dad suggested Paracel but we were hesitant because the restaurant has been around for decades but no one really talks of it. We decided to inquire and were shocked that their pricing was half of what the other caterers quoted us for and without all these ridiculous add-on fees!

Now I've been to my fair share of weddings and my tastebuds are generally easily pleased, but sometimes there are a few dishes that are meh. This was not the case with Paracel! From the time we went to the tasting (which was free of charge!!! Other caterers charge for tastings btw), we were blown away by how amazing everything tasted. And we prayed that they'd be able to replicate it for our off-site wedding. Mission completely accomplished. EVERYONE LOVED THE FOOD!! Compliment after compliment about how amazing the food was. It's the best wedding food we've ever had (totally not biased)! People are still talking to us about how great the food was!

We went with the top of the line menu and swapped out a few items:
- Lobster Salad
- Crab and Fish Maw Soup
- Filet Mignon
- House Special Lobster WITH NOODLES
- Peking Duck
- Honey Walnut Shrimp
- Seafood Bird Nest
- Fried Rice
- Mung Bean Dessert
- Appetizers during Cocktail Hour were included in their package too!

Paracel by far had the best food, value, and most importantly - flexibility! Our venue was pretty strict with their policies but Paracel was able to work with us, offered to help out in more ways than we thought possible, all without charging us extra fees. I won't list them out here (in case they were only doing us the favors), but I can think of five MAJOR favors they willingly helped us with, which saved us hundreds of dollars!!

Working with the Paracel team was a pleasure - Matthew, Katie, and Shaun were so kind, responsive, and understanding. We could not be more satisfied with our selection!!

Matthew and his parents are Godsends! Where else can you book food catering, a full bar, a venue, and an awesome DJ! Look no further, here’s your one stop shop! Listen to the other reviews and do yourself a favor and book Paracel for your wedding, birthday, large family gatherings. They are so accommodating. Matthew does a great job of answering your questions. My main concern was if the food from the tasting was going to taste the same day of the wedding. Our guests loved the food! No complaints there! The bar was stocked. And the bartenders knew how to mix perfectly portion drinks! The wedding went smoothly. And our guests of 370 had so much fun!

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here. This is a family owned restaurant, and they are super friendly with large groups like ours. The owner Tom and his son Matt helped us pick one of their set menus that fit our price range and food tastes, then they allowed us to substitute heavily for the items on the menu based on food allergies. The night of the rehearsal dinner, we asked them to prepare special individual meals for one of our guests as we had forgotten to arrange separate food for her extreme food allergies. Paracel's kitchen went above and beyond in accommodating our requests, and Tom even have us the last minute meal orders free of charge. The serving wait staff, a small girl and tall guy were quick and attentive to our 50+ guests, so much so that our guests mentioned to us how competent and professional they were. The food was excellent and we would be happy to eat there again. The restaurant ambiance felt like an Asian wedding, which might be off putting for western guests as they played Vietnamese music throughout the night. They had open mike and open dance floor which a few of our guests took advantage of. All in all, the venue is excellent, although more suitable for a large banquet style event than as a casual family dinner.

Highly recommended!!! Linh is great to work with. She helped me from the start to the finish. From the hotel to everything else that I need it. Wonderful coordinator! The food is awesome!!! Everyone loved it from our wedding. It was perfect.

We worked primarily with Matthew, and we cannot say enough to praise his fantastic customer service skills. Every correspondence with him left us feeling so lucky and grateful to have him as one our vendors for our big day. He was always prompt with his response, patient and understanding of the various issues that popped up during our planning process.

Long story short we originally planned to have our dinner reception at his restaurant but had a last minute change due to construction at our ceremony site (Wyndham). After much scrambling, we ended up asking Matthew to cater at our NEW ceremony site so it would be more convenient for guests, and he worked with us to change our contract and make sure we would have everything we needed to throw a great party. Matthew made himself available to us via phone, email, and in-person which really facilitated the planning process.

He was so easy to work with and we even hired him as our DJ for the event. We could tell he was very passionate about music and creating the right mood for our event. We had him mix songs for us and customize music for different parts of the night and he met all our requests with a smile.

We are also extremely pleased with the food, we had some suggestions for how we wanted certain dishes cooked and presented at our tasting and Matthew made sure all of our suggestions got incorporated the day off. Our guest told us they loved the food and cake so big kudos to Paracel for making sure our guest had happy bellies!

As a vendor Paracel Restaurant is very very reasonable, but you get so much more than what you pay for. The level of customer service is top-notch! Thank you Matthew for going above and beyond our expectations.

We hired Paracel through a recommendation from our venue. We met with Matthew and his father for a tasting and everything was amazing. Pricing was very reasonable compared to other caterers we were looking at. Matthew was very pleasant to work with and we had high hopes that everything was going to be amazing the day of our wedding.

The day of the wedding, they showed up late to our venue. This was extremely problematic because we could not set up the center pieces until they lazy susans they were to provide were in place. While the I received many compliments regarding the quality of the food, the service to the tables on the other half of the venue (furthest from the kitchen) was extremely slow. When I was table greeting, I noticed that the tables by the kitchen were one or two course ahead from the tables on the other side of the dance floor. This was very disappointing since a huge majority of my family were on that side.

The worst part of all is that they forgot to serve my cake. At about 9:30, I looked over at our stage and realized that my cake was still sitting there. When I finally found my coordinator, she went to talk to the caterers. The cake ended up not being served until past 10:30 when most of my guests were gone. Only the middle tier was served and there was an entire tier left at the end they asked what we wanted to do with it. We told them to keep it, but turns out the cake stand rental pieces were in that tier still. When I went to return my rentals, I was informed I was missing half of it and they did not want to refund me. As the cake was done through Paracel, I had Van's take it up with them because it was due to them that I did not have all my rental pieces.

Matthew was not present the day of my wedding, I imagine he was at the restaurant where they probably had another wedding, but I feel like things would have gone more smoothly had he been handling things that day. The situation with the cake and the slow service was very upsetting to me, but of course none of my guests knew any better (but they did make comments) so all in all, at least they enjoyed the food.

I had my reception at Paracel Restaurant.

Pros: lighting, cake table, gift/candy bar table, easel for large picture of bride and groom, all included. Private changing room for bride. Dance floor included. Screen projector for slideshow included. Beautiful decor and ambiance. Food was good according to guests (as the bride, I didn't have time to eat much!).


Cons: I heard from guests that not all tables received champagne or martinelli's for toasting and had to toast with water. Part way through the reception, my groom and I realized that the DJ had the wrong schedule up on his laptop and had not been sticking to the song list for background music that my groom had taken hours to pick out.

Overall: 4/5. Despite the glitches, the actual venue made for a memorable reception that the guests were wowed with.
