Because we were planning a destination wedding, we had to rely on my mom and sister for cake tasting and coordination. Papa Hyden's was very easy to work with, setting my mom and sister up with a tasting menu and consulting on several different options. Out of the several Portland area bakeries that they visited, Papa Hyden's was by far their favorite based on the flavors and taste of the cakes, frosting as well as decor. When we were able to visit about a month prior to the wedding, we were able to do our own tasting and confirmed that the cake was delightful. Not only were our flavors interesting and delicious, Papa Hyden's nailed the overall look of the cake that I was hoping for as well. In comparison to many other bakeries, I would highly recommend Papa Hyden's as an awesome option for high quality at a good price.

We planned our wedding from long distance. I knew the pastries here and decided to call them up for our wedding cake. The cake was amazing. Beautiful and best tasting cake ever. We had 4 flavors and all were amazing. I was asking to make changes up to a week before. They were very helpful and I got beyond what I hoped for.

Ashley, the head baker, was so much fun to work with. She listened well and was able to have fun and unique ideas to make the cake special. Not only was the cake beautiful, it tasted AMAZING! We also ordered smaller bourbon balls as our party favors. They were a hit.

The cake was delicious and beautiful! But it was not a bargain option. But still very yummy, and they were very helpful.
