We decided to get married and instead of going to the courthouse we used a room at the Old Village Post House Inn in Mt. Pleasant. Perfect location that captures the spirit the Charleston. We had a short ceremony, followed by pictures then a wonderful dinner. We will always have this special place to celebrate anniversaries. This is also a B&B close to the ocean. Wonderful staff, wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere!

We booked the Post House Inn's Royall Suite as a place for the girls to get ready before our wedding, and my husband and I also stayed there the night of the wedding. The staff at The Post House could not have been more accommodating and kind! They stopped in mid-morning and brought us ice water, and when one of our hair stylists needed an extension cord, they made that happen too. We've been back in Atlanta for about a week now, and just received the sweetest card from them thanking us for our stay. I would definitely recommend The Post House Inn if you need a place to get ready for your wedding and/or a wonderfully romantic spot for your wedding night in Charleston.

If you read my other reviews, I've gushed, but that is because everything associated with my wedding was absolutely perfect. There was not one moment where I had regrets. My bridesmaids' brunch was no exception. If you don't know Mount Pleasant, the Old Village is one of the prettiest parts. It was the heart and soul of Mount Pleasant prior to the population exploding. To give you an idea how picturesque it is, parts of the Notebook were filmed on Pitt St where the Old Village Post House is located. I hadn't been to the Post House in years; so, I didn't really have any expectations. The decor was beautiful, genteel, and Southern, but it was not stuffy. We had a wide range of dresses on, and no one looked out of place. The service was excellent. They had mimosas, poinsettias, and bellinis waiting on us, which were perfect for brunch. There was a spectacular buffet. We had quiche, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, etc. The stars of the show were their cinnamon and sugar candied french toast and their shrimp and grits. They were both scrumptious! Another excellent part of the brunch was that they gave us all to go boxes so we could take food back to our families! Disclaimer: My aunts threw this for me; so, I have no idea how much it cost, but I didn't want to leave value, flexibility, or responsiveness blank because it would give them a bad rating. However, my aunt seemed really pleased with their services.

We hosted a reception for about 45 people in the Pitt Street Room upstairs at the Old Village Post House. As always, the food was incredible and our guests raved about it. Katie & Bonnie were wonderful to work with - they were super responsive and accommodating for all of our requests, even helping us to come up with some options for a few of our guests who required gluten-free options. We were able to bring in some linens and a few different table and chair options, our wedding cake and groom's cake, flowers & decor to make the room truly special and unique for our day. It is beautiful at night with candles lit and the lights dimmed. It was the perfect size for our number of guests with a mixture of seating and bar height tables. We could not have asked for a better reception venue, service, and food on our wedding night.

I wasn't involved in much of the planning for the rehearsal dinner but the venue was great. We had a private room which fit 25 of us perfectly. The food was AMAZING!! The staff was very friendly too.
