During life, you are destined to cross paths with people, places, & Moments that change your life, impacting you for a lifetime!

Dominique Sloper, our Events Catering Manager, stepped into our wedding planning stage after some hiccups and a change of staff. She is truly one of those people, passionate, detail-oriented, patient, with a dedicated work ethic rarely seen these days. Our wedding was a dream come true for our family, friends, and us.

She managed it all from the gift reception details, menu, the flow, and even the layout from the ceremony to the reception. While meeting our budget and timelines, the staff was superb, all are dedicated to their guest' expectations. We will be eternally grateful for the cherished time we had at this venue.

20/10 highly recommend!

I don’t even know where to begin. If you’re looking for an outdoor venue or one where you’ll have room for a wedding tent on the central coast stop your search now. My husband and I had our Wedding Weekend here 04/2022 and it was an absolute dream. Getting to have all of our closest friends and family stay on sight and party all weekend was amazing. The Director of Sales, Pam is absolutely salt of the earth. When we first booked the venue she wasn’t yet in her position but as soon as she was everything fell into place. She is attentive, caring, and genuine. She truly loves her job and it shows, her and her staff were on top of every detail leading up to our big day. My husband and I host tons of events through the year and we’ve never received so many compliments about the food, and service. I cannot recommend this venue enough for a wedding.

Organized Lovely Experience

After visiting Oceanpoint Ranch several times I am blown away by the customer service and breathtaking views. The director of sales was so knowledgeable and enlightening! Pamela is very organized and prompt with her communication. There is something for everyone at this location whether you are planning a wedding, business event or family gathering. Not only are the rooms are updated and gorgeous but the amenities are wonderful.

Breathtaking Venue

We had our ceremony and reception at Oceanpoint Ranch this past weekend. The venue was spectacular—gorgeous views, rustic beauty, everything was breathtaking. The staff was outstanding, especially Pam the sales manager. Super responsive, and so helpful and flexible throughout the whole process. They also did the catering, which was not only convenient but also delicious. We did the chili bar and got so many comments on how good the food was. The chef was really outstanding, and they even accommodated a kids buffet which was such a hit with all our little friends. From start to finish, they really went above and beyond and everything exceeded our expectations. We had a bunch of our guests staying on site which made for such a special extended weekend running into everyone around the property. We also did an informal rehearsal gathering in the Moonstone Corral area with tacos, sliders, a bar and s’mores. Everyone had so much fun playing lawn games and roasting marshmallows around the firepits. Overall, I just can’t say enough about what an amazing venue this was. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Wedding Venue, absolutely perfect.

We just got married at Oceanpoint Ranch and it was amazing. It exceeded my expecations and my family and friends haven't stopped talking about it since. The venue was so beautiful, the food was amazing and the staff is wonderful. I booked this site last October and have been so nervous about having a desitnation wedding, but when the day came it was perfect. Pam was so wonderful to work with and everyone made the whole experience so simple. Best weekend ever!!!

Fantastic!

We held our wedding here in October 2018 and it was truly amazing. My then fiance (now husband!) and I searched all throughout California for a venue that was quintessentially "Californian" and would accommodate all of our 150 guests for the weekend. We found this place by luck - we were vacationing in the area with a few friends and decided to visit some venues. After completing a tour with the gracious front desk person (Alexis), my very picky fiance immediately knew that this was the place!

Our friends and family booked all the rooms in the hotel for the weekend - and the whole wedding weekend was truly a joyful revelry!
Pam, the coordinator was incredibly supportive and communicative throughout the process. The grounds, house, kitchen and front desk staff were all incredibly dedicated, helpful and just easy to work with. I guess, living in Cambria - one can't help but adopt a friendly attitude.

Our guests all commented on how impeccably cleaned the rooms were upon arrival, the comfy bedding, and fun activities within and around the hotel. Most importantly, the catering was quite well done! Our guests repeatedly commented on how much they enjoyed the seemingly neverending array of delicious dishes that were served, by a very attentive staff.

The best part of all was they gave us the grounds as a blank canvas to use in realizing our vision. The sun was out shining on us throughout the weekend, blessing us with warmth, joy, and love.

Proceed with Caution

Think twice, maybe three or four times, before wasting your time, trust and emotional energy on this venue. I'd say "you get what you pay for" but I never got the chance to pay anything, thank goodness for that. I initially connected with their former rep in December 2024 and communication was solid, they were quite flexible and informative about their offerings. This got my fiancé and I really excited and we decided this was our dream venue. We visit Moonstone a few times a year and have become quite close with the community so it all felt very serendipitous. Fast forward to June of this year, we decided to make the long drive up and formalize a contract to sign + put down our deposit. The former rep made us aware she had been promoted and a new rep, Dominique Sloper, would be helping us. That's when it all unraveled. From the start, communicating with Dominique was difficult. During the site walk, important details previously confirmed with the other rep were no longer available to us and I was met with a dismissive that's "just how Central California planning goes". Most of the information she provided I had already discussed at lengths with the other rep but was patient since she was new. She told us to expect a contract within "one to maaaybe two days hehe" but that was over two weeks ago. Since then? Three emails ignored. Two phone calls unanswered. Dominique has completely ghosted us. First red flag was her admission the venue might not honor agreed upon details, even after the contract has been signed. Second, was she mentioned twice she's been in the industry seven years which is usually a sign someone's relying more on time served than quality delivered. Seeing the most recent reviews on this venue confirmed what my gut was already telling me. Oceanpoint Ranch may come across as affordable, but there's a reason for that and it shows. Proceed with caution!!

They double booked my wedding and called it a little hiccup

I received an email 5 days before my wedding saying there was a little hiccup and that they had double booked my wedding location and time with someone else. I asked numerous questions about how they could be finding out right before and that it wasn’t noticed some time before since I had been in constant communication with them. I received no clarification and told I could move my start time and they would take $250 off my package and offer a free fire pit area for reception. The woman, Jacki, was clearly trying to fix the problem for herself, but didn’t care that I had vendors under contract for a certain time and daylight was an issue for a postponement. She offered a worse option of having the weddings at the same time but I’d be moved to an empty lawn overlooking the spot that had been taken from me. I’d here their wedding music during my ceremony, their mics, and their guests would have to walk through my area to get to theirs. I brought these issues up to her and asked for a solution to what she had done and her response was I need to make a decision to move forward. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she didn’t respond.

I was stuck. And I had no time to navigate this since we booked from out of town, I had all of my guests staying at that hotel with me, and my reception was supposed to be at their restaurant. To me, they should have been bending over backwards to fix the wedding, but I was left to figure it out as I arrived in town two days before the wedding.

When I contacted my photographer about what was happening he swooped in and offered a location he did a lot of work with. We were able to have our ceremony and don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful day, but paid triple to have it done. The reception was cut short when the fire pit was turned off on us at 10 pm. I’ll say I did know that there was a curfew, but it was literally lights out with no warning and my guests were all in the dark trying to find their belongings since it had obviously come to a close. I looked over at the other fire pits on the hotels property still going and the other wedding party having a great time and realized I had truly gotten the short end of the stick in every way planning with this hotel. I really felt as though I was getting the leftovers. The hotel did not pay for the ceremony change which truly should have been on them , didn’t offer a refund for the mishaps with the reception. I still paid for the whole reception and fought with Jacki over getting comped for the hotel room for having to run around fixing her errors instead of enjoying guests arriving. I had to tell this woman Jacki to apologize for what she had done and her response was she was of course sorry and let me know that she was missing her kids softball tournament because of it....

I hope anyone booking their wedding sees this and runs in the other direction.
