Facilities and capacity
In total, the venue has over 100 acres of space. As it is an estate, the grounds spread out in all directions for a considerable distance, meaning plenty of green space for you and your guests to stroll about at your leisure.
Undoubtedly the main attraction of the Oakshire Estate & Airfield is our eye-catching red-brick mansion that has several rooms, a water feature to the front, and large, green trees all around. A building fitting of the significance of your day, its size and sheer resplendence is capable of doing justice to even the most euphoric of wedding-day celebrations.
In total, there are five event spaces on location, meaning ample choice on offer for you to select whichever one suits you and your guests best.
One more special feature of our venue is the airfield. Our airfield allows our clients to fly into the estate for direct access to our private venue. This is ideal for our high profile clients who want to be able to have a private celebration with their family and friends. Our runway is 3,000 ft long and can accommodate both private jets and helicopters. Our clients also make use of the airfield at the end of their wedding, instead of a “getaway car” our brides can have a “getaway” private jet or helicopter making for an extra special ending to a perfect day.

What’s more, the venue’s staff are more than happy to not only work with the couple to ensure everything runs smoothly, but they are also open to coordinating with any wedding planners they have hired.
Location
Nestled in the Yakima Valley, the Oakshire Estate & Airfield matches the natural splendor that surrounds it. The region is home to several orchards and hop fields, meaning there is an abundance of eye-catching nature for you and your guests to drink in. What’s more, if the happy couple so wish, they can take a tour to Seattle - which is less than two-and-a-half hours drive away - but closer if you’re flying.

You can tell they genuinely care about their couples and take a lot of pride in Oakshire. We were able to actually enjoy our wedding instead of worrying about everything happening around us. Oakshire estates is an unbelievable gorgeous property. It was everything I was looking for in a venue. It had all the elegance, luxury & a European vibe I wanted!
I am actually a wedding planner & have had my planning business for over 10 years. I recently relocated to Yakima from Hawaii. I couldn’t believe I found my dream venue in my new home town! I have seen many amazing venues throughout the years as a planner yet Oakshire estates is absolutely special!
The venue was perfect in every sense for us, even having an air strip on the property! My Father in law flies airplanes as his hobby so he flew us out on his plane! We ended our perfect evening with a plane exit. I am so thankful that Cate and her family have this amazing property available to have our special day. If you want to bring the “WOW” into your wedding….have it at Oakshire estates!

Now the venue was amazing but what made our day incredible was Cate and the event staff. Cate made us feel at ease from the start and helped make our vision come to life. She cares deeply about her space and couples, and it shows through the intentionality that she had with us and our coordinator. When family and friends heard we were having our daughter's wedding in Yakima, we certainly got a few confused looks, as the kids live in Bellingham and our families are primarily in Spokane and the greater Puget Sound area. However, with most 2020 weddings being postponed to 2021 due to COVID, our search parameters needed to expand a bit.
When we first discovered Oakshire Estate, we were initially concerned with distance and cost. After coming to the realization that a centralized location actually made a lot of sense, and that our loved ones would make it work regardless, we reached out and contacted Cate.
Now, Oakshire is not cheap, and if you’re looking to save a few bucks on the venue, then you probably aren’t reading this review. But if you are looking for the perfect storybook/fantasy wedding, it is important to realize is that, in this case, you absolutely get what you pay for.
Other than the estate being literally jaw-dropping the first time you see it, Cate is one of those people who honestly cares about her customers and will bend over backwards to ensure that everything is absolutely perfect. She even personally jumped in the golf cart to go pick up the Grandmas from one of the several Airbnb’s, also on the property, when they were ready for pictures.
When you consider that Oakshire provides a ton of amenities (tables, chairs, bar, lighting, décor, restroom facilities, full staff, trash handling, parking attendants/shuttle, etc.) that normally cost extra, …and you have your choice of 7 or 8 different areas of this massive estate for ceremony and festivities, plus on-site lodging options, it really is tough to beat.
