My newly minted in-laws just hosted our Rehearsal Dinner at Nonno Pino's on August 31, 2013 for over 40 people, and we got nothing but compliments on the food! Kudos to Mike for making everything happen. We also had some gluten-free and some vegan guests, and they handled everything perfectly. Mike even spoke directly to those individuals to make sure their needs were met. Food was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. Everything came out timely, and served hot or cold accordingly. More than a few people commented that this was the best Italian they've ever had!
The restaurant has street metered parking or they have complimentary valet. The space itself is a cute all-brick building with very high ceilings. The restaurant is good for dates (table themselves have white tablecloths and votive candles), families, and groups. We had a rehearsal dinner, but I know they've done weddings as well.
Fried Calamari - it comes with marinara sauce and lemon wedge. The calamari was fresh and tender. The batter was light and crispy. One of the best renditions I've ever had.
House Salad - it comes with house Italian or creamy garlic dressing. The fun part is actually combining the two dressing together! They were meant to be eaten separate, but I find the combo to be really yummy.
Penne with Meat Sauce - tender, perfectly cooked pasta with a very tomato-y and slightly creamy meat sauce. Soooo good.
Tilapia Florentine - this is served with tomatoes and spinach sauteed in a garlic and lemon wine sauce with mashed potatoes. So this was definitely mind-blowing. I don't think I've ever had a better tilapia anywhere.
Then the dessert platter...my favorites were the tiramisu and chocolate cake = FABULOUS.
Definitely recommend Nonno Pino's for any event you are thinking of!
