The No Name Stringband is a collective of Madison-area musicians who combine a broad understanding of traditional Appalachian old-time music with a slew of original acoustic compositions. The music ranges from fiddle-led, foot-stomping barn dances to slower, introspective classical-bluegrass numbers. Our performances are easily tuned to the event - if we're playing a dance, we play loud and fast, but we can slow things down for a sentimental ceremony.

NNSB has been warmly received at weddings, farm dinners, barn dances, bars, festival stages, house parties, neighborhood picnics, birthdays, and other unique events such as the Madison Children Museum's Adult Swim Night.

We are flexible! We can bring a big band, a small band, play acoustic or with a PA, play your cocktail hour (that's our favorite!) or even provide the main entertainment for the evening. If you want music for your ceremony, we can provide traditional classical music or learn 'your' song (as long as we can do it in our fashion!)
