About

New England Vintage Films is the work of vintage cinematographer David Cunningham. Our goal is to fulfill our own desire to work with vintage movie film formats, especially Super 8, while providing a reasonably priced service to clients who want to capture their moments on film. While many other companies charge $4000 or more just to get started we will work with you to find a reasonably priced solution that works for any budget.

Although our primary focus is Super 8 wedding films, we can shoot in any format or at any event you desire. We have the equipment and expertise to shoot in regular (double) 8mm, Super 8mm and 16mm and we can create special movies for all occasions.

Based out of Lowell, MA, New England Vintage Films is willing to travel. Please feel free to contact us even if we are not nearby. We would be happy to discuss travel costs and meeting solutions.

We prefer to meet all clients in person to discuss itineraries and expectations.

Dave was our wedding videographer when we got married in June, 2016. From our first video chat, he was extremely knowledgeable about both his business, services and was completely flexible throughout the entire process. He answered any and all questions we had and went above our expectations. We didn't want a standard boring wedding video decided to have it shot in Super 8. He was easy to work with and offered us a range of services based around our budget. We were (and still are!!) completely thrilled with the quality of his work and all of the time, effort and care he put into making it perfect. He let us choose the music and didn't stop working with us until everything was right. I also appreciate that he doesn't mass produce wedding videos - each one seems to fit the couple and their style, which truly makes him stand out from other vendors. Don't hesitate to hire him!

I honestly can't recommend NEVF enough; David is a talented videographer and really got into the spirit of the day at our wedding. He was fun, engaging, and delivered a great product that we'll continue to enjoy for years to come.

New England Vintage Films is the best-kept secret in the New England wedding industry and I am so happy we found Dave! I never thought I wanted a wedding video (picturing cheesy 90s VHS cassettes with heart wipes, etc.) so didn't bother looking for one. But then a couple months before our September wedding, my fiance and I were visiting my parents and we all dug out the old film projector and watched their 1977 wedding that some uncles had shot on Super 8. I realized that I wanted our wedding to be captured in the same way. After searching for Super 8/8mm wedding films online (there's not a ton out there!), I found Dave at New England Vintage Films and luckily he was available for our wedding date. And his prices were so reasonable compared to many others I contacted. He was also willing to travel to Maine for our wedding. Dave was very easy to work with, super responsive by email and phone, and flexible about meeting us in person. He's also crazy enthusiastic about what he does, which is fun and shows in the product he puts out. He was great to work with the day of the wedding, going out of his way to get in touch with our photographer beforehand so that he could coordinate with her and the day of they worked seamlessly together and Dave was invisible. Yet he got amazing shots of everything!! We've only seen our trailer so far (short version set to one song) which he finished much faster than I could have thought possible (and only took as long as it did (about a month because we were slow getting him the song we wanted to use). The trailer is perfect!!! It's absolutely beautiful and romantic and full of shots of the kids in the wedding (which we requested). I've watched it at least once a day and many days more than once. Everyone who has seen it has LOVED it -- people I don't even know that well have cried watching it. He captured the day and the emotions perfectly. My husband and I are in love with it and can't wait to see the final full video!
