Jim Rio was recommended to us by our venue/caterer (which we also loved and trusted). We booked with him in fall of 2019 for our September 2020 wedding. Jim met with us to go over his services and didn’t make us feel any pressure to sign with him right then and there (even though we knew we wanted to!). We ended up hiring him to do the music for our ceremony and reception since the event was in the same room. We met with Jim a second time before our wedding to discuss details. We appreciated that Jim took the time to meet with us and was very thorough. I am very detail oriented but I definitely met my match with Jim. He was even more detail oriented than me which made this stressed out Bride feel at ease. We knew we were in good hands. He even took the time to make sure he would pronounce everyone’s names correctly during the announcements and sent us samples of music for the ceremony and reception entrance as well. You can tell he really loves DJing. Being a couple that planned a lot of our wedding during the pandemic, we were concerned our guests wouldn’t dance or wouldn’t have fun. Jim assured us it would still be a fun time even though we had to keep everyone safe. He was right. We had the most amazing night. He kept us on schedule, kept things flowing, played the music we requested and had selected during our meeting with him, and he made it even more fun. He even joined the group on the dance floor to show how to do some of the line dances we wanted played (which I really appreciated since I didn’t know how to do most of them). Jim was responsive, easy to work with, detail oriented, and fun but professional. His pricing was very affordable and competitive as well. We 100% recommend him.

We were extremely satisfied with the wedding reception experience Music Connection (Jim Rio) provided. We got married during the COVID-19 pandemic and were very nervous about the safety of our guests while also providing a fun wedding experience. Before we booked with Jim, we met with him in person and he provided us with previous playlists and tons of music suggestions. After we booked Jim, we met with him again to fill out a very organized outline of the night. He was very professional with his song suggestions and responded quickly to my emails. He did a wonderful job of creating a timeline of the whole night to share with us before the reception and was an excellent emcee providing a great flow of our events (introductions, speeches, first dances, cake cutting, etc.). He was flexible as the night went on with our song requests and checked in with us to see if we were able to visit all of our guests at each table before starting the first dances (he didn’t rush us at all!). We were glad that Jim stuck with our requests of songs to play and not to play. We were pleasantly surprised that the music was so good that people were (socially distanced) dancing ALL night long! We even had a few couples ask for the DJ’s information for their upcoming weddings. We HIGHLY recommend Music Connection and are so grateful for our wonderful experience.

Jim Rio was wonderful to work with throughout the wedding process. He was super helpful in planning and making sure that everyone was on the same page for the plan for our wedding! Throughout the wedding, he did such a phenomenal job! He is super organized and professional, and did a great job playing music that suited everyone who attended. Jim Rio and Music Connection did an outstanding job with the entertainment for our wedding in October 2016!!! It was one of the best decisions we made to have Jim as our DJ because he is experienced, professional, kind, responsive, fun and very easy to work with. Jim has done several events for my family over the years, and when our reception vendor recommended him also, it was a no brainer. Jim provided extra uplighting for the venue walls, dance floor lighting, and extra speakers (because he had DJd at our large reception venue before and knew exactly how to get the perfect sound to fill the large space with cocktail party Music, dinner music, and music that brought the party throughout the evening)! Jim provides playlists so you have an idea of what songs other couples had during their receptions....this was extremely helpful because it reminded my husband and I of all the great classics and hits that we wanted to include, but otherwise might not have remembered without a list. Jim was also kind enough to cut music for us so that each of our bridal party couples could be introduced to a unique song. He made suggestions for the timeline of the evening and did a great job emceeing and keeping things moving throughout the night. Our wedding was an absolute blast and people did not leave the dance floor because we had a great DJ. After we returned from our honeymoon guests were telling us how great of a DJ we had. We highly recommend Jim Rio for your wedding and party needs!

Jim from Music Connection provided a wonderful service for our wedding! From the very first meeting he was receptive to what we were looking for to make our wedding fun! The dance floor was packed the entire night and everyone mentioned how much fun they had! He keeps the flow of the reception and makes sure everyone is having a great time! Highly recommended!

We had looked at other DJ services that were all really expensive so we asked Coyne Catering if they had any recommendations. Tricia recommended Jim Rio, who had DJed at St. Demetrios for several years and was affordable. It was helpful that he already knew the facility well and how to set up his location and the lighting (that he also included!). We liked that he had several years worth of experience and that he didn’t have the cheesy-DJ radio voice. He made sure he was able to pronounce everyone’s name correctly, had spare equipment in case something went wrong the day of, and was overall very professional and clearly took pride in his work. He did a good job balancing music that we liked and reading the crowd to see what was working. We had so many people on the dance floor and people were dancing until the end. After the wedding he also gave us the setlist he used so we knew all the songs he played from beginning until end.

Jim Rio helped bring our wedding dream to life and then some! We had a very specific list of music we wanted to hear and he stuck to that, but also gave us new ideas that made things even MORE fun. When meeting with us, he spent the time necessary to make sure everything would be just how we wanted it. The ceremony went beautifully, and during the reception I danced so hard I ached for the next few days. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way on my big day! He has a great personality and was great with all our guests, even the rambunctious kiddies. He's truly a pleasure to work with!

My family has used Music Connection for multiple events, birthday parties, anniversaries, graduations, weddings and most recently my wedding. Jim Rio is by far the best DJ I have ever met, he loves what he does and you can tell through his work! He is very professional and has a very pleasant personality, easy to get along with. We met up before the big day and discussed music and a timeline for our reception. Our choice in music isn't your normal "wedding music" but he made it work and everyone seemed to enjoy it! Jim requested a timeline for events and because he does this for a living I let him work his magic. The day of our reception ran so smooth and stress free, he was on point and made sure nothing was missed! We hired Jim Rio from Music Connection for our wedding day and he was AMAZING! First off, he was extremely accommodating and responsive during the planning process (FYI we were planning from out of state). He was able to meet with us based on our limited availability, was very responsive to emails / phone calls and helped in anyway he could! Jim listened to our ideas and definitely took the time to understand our ideal DJ/Emcee. Jim had suggestions when we asked for help (which we often did!) and was able to deliver an AMAZING service as our DJ! Jim Rio at Music Connection was fantastic to work with. He completely understood what kind of music we wanted and was there with his professional opinion every step of the way when we couldn't make up our minds. He let us personalize our reception with mixed songs we created and we really relied on his opinion for the layout of the event, which was amazing. He is very knowledgeable and experienced in what he does. Music Connection also provided the up-lighting for our reception which I feel really boosted the atmosphere of our event.
