Mowry Photography was officially started in the middle of 2008. However, I've enjoyed taking pictures for about as long as I can remember. The passion really started when my kids were born and I ran out and bought my first SLR camera. I remember it being a bit more difficult than I expected and I had to start learning about what makes up exposure and the differences in film and how expensive it was to buy film and get it developed. Then my first DSLR came along. I can do all of this cool stuff and I didn't have to buy film any more. But then I had to print, so I started learning about printers, paper and ink. Well it started getting expensive again so I had to do something. I sold all of my gear and bought my first professional camera, discovered printing services online and started charging for my work. Just to support my hobby. It just snowballed from there. Now, here in 2016, I have a degree in professional photography from the New York Institute of Photography. I am using a COUPLE of very nice Canon full frame digital cameras and I love every minute I am behind them. It's still part time but I keep myself pretty busy.
