Mound Grove Golf & Recreation is a barn wedding venue in the Cleveland, Ohio area. This quaint venue was originally a barn and homestead from the 1840s, and maintains much of its rustic charm and natural beauty. This venue is in Pennsylvania, just south of Erie. The drive to this venue from downtown Cleveland is approximately an hour and 40 minutes.
Facilities and Capacity
The barn at this venue easily accommodates up to 300 guests for a couple's wedding. Couples can start their ceremony in true country fashion by having their guests arrive to the ceremony location via hayride. This method of transportation is required for ceremonies on the golf course and available as an option for other ceremony locations. The golf course ceremonies feature a beautiful hillside or sparkling pond. Ceremonies on the Homestead Grounds feature green grasses, solid trees and a scenic pastoral backdrop. As an indoor option, ceremonies can also be held in the barn. The barn's gray wooden exterior is weathered and vintage, matching much of the rustic decor inside. Strings of lights add a touch of whimsical romance to the space's rough exposed beams, but a mason jar and wagon wheel chandelier steals the show overhead.
The staff at Mound Grove Golf & Recreation help to make each couple's wedding day a smooth and memorable experience. They invite couples to celebrate multiple events at their location including bridal showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners and morning-after brunches, in addition to ceremonies and receptions. They even offer a groomsman golf outing when couples choose this venue. Other services include:
The barn has a built-in bar that - for a couple's wedding - comes with bartenders to keep the spirits flowing. Services always include a champagne toast for the head table, and other options such as premium liquor and specialty beer. Cuisine can be served buffet-style with the options of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres. Couples can even choose from specialty stations such as a hot dog bar, tater tot bar and more.
Jesse Coover built Mound Grove Farms, as the property was originally called, in the 1840s. This included the barn and homestead, before the 18-hole golf course was added in 1993 by the Biebel family. This prompted the name change from Mound Grove Farms to Mound Grove Golf & Recreation.

Hands down the best venue for a wedding!!!!!! Mound Grove Golf Course is amazing, and I'm truly honored to have chosen them for our wedding venue!!!
Cindy and Stephanie were phenomenal - they made sure to ask us if we needed anything. If we needed anything they were right there making sure we had it. They truly took a huge burden off of my shoulders with all of their help - I have to admit everything went smoothly. A huge thank you to the rest of their staff who made our day special as well.
All of our guests were amazed at the venue, and they kept complimenting how wonderful the venue was along with the FOOD. The food was delicious - while I only had a small plate of food (to busy to eat a lot), both my husband and I were pleased on how everything turned out. Again, we were pleased with the food choices of Roast Beef and Chicken for our dinner.
Another side note, my wedding party along with my mother and I stayed at the Homestead house the night before the wedding. What a beautiful home, and an honor to share such a special part of my life with the owners of Mound Grove.
From my husband and I - thank you for everything you did to make our day so special. The memories will sure last a lifetime.

I literally have nothing bad to say about Mound Grove, the staff, or anything! They made our day perfect and Kelly worked SO HARD to make sure everything was exactly as I wanted. She was so sweet and caring and made me feel like she was part of the family. If I could do it all over again, I would choose Mound Grove EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The price was great, the food was great, the service was great! Everything about it was even better than I could have imagined! Kelly really cares about her brides and it shows! Everyone raved about her and the venue! I can't recommend Mound Grove enough!!!Sent on 12/11/2015
