Established in the 1930's as the Mountain Home Cottages, Moon Shadow Haven on Johnson Creek is a little piece of Paradise in the Texas Hill Country located just 30 minutes west of Fredericksburg in Mountain Home, Texas. The property boasts unlimited photo opportunities amongst its 17 acres of lush vegetation and towering trees. The venue itself is perched at the top of a bluff overlooking 1/3 mile of Johnson Creek and the wildlife that visits the creek. Finding inspiration in Colorado, the owners designed the venue as a picturesque lodge one might find nestled in the mountains. The venue embraces nature and celebrates the property's breathtaking views while also having modern amenities and conveniences. In addition to the event venue, Moon Shadow Haven also has a separate climate controlled chapel to escape the Texas heat (or cold!) when hosting your wedding ceremony. There's no need to limit your experience at Moon Shadow Haven to just one day. The owners invite you to stay as long as you'd like with your bridal party in the charming cabins onsite. Natural lighting, beautiful sights, country location. The venue is so effortlessly beautiful, hardly any additional decorating is needed. The staff is exceptional, and we had no problems with unsaid expectations or costs. They made my 150+ count wedding feel so intimate. So much open space and beautiful rooms!-
