Please be aware before signing a contract with this business.
We paid our $500 deposit on july 31st, 2023 for full time wedding planning. She sent the first copy of the contract on July 20th. The next day we noticed mistakes that needed to be sent over to be corrected. She sent the updated contract July 24. We originally wanted a certain venue, but had to change so we needed that to be corrected before signing. We let her know that July 28th. We sent the money by July 31st per her request and told me that day she would send over the corrected contract. We didn’t get that contract until August 8th after we messaged her the day before to see when she was going to send it over. At that time, we were out of town so we sent the contract on August 19th. On July 28th she stated that she would set up our first meeting in September. We heard Nothing. I mentioned a meeting on July 31st, she replied saying she would let me know within a week when we could schedule a meeting. Again, we heard nothing. On September 4th I asked again, she stated she was out of town and would get up with us that week. Again, we heard nothing. September 11th I messaged her again; She stated her family member just had surgery and she would get up with us again. Although we understand and sympathize with her and her family's situation, we want to reiterate that we have made numerous efforts to schedule a meeting. I didn’t receive a reply until I sent her an email on September 20th about terminating our contract due to the inadequate communication we had received. We asked her kindly to refund our deposit since we had not even had our first meeting and we hadn’t made any plans. She responded stating she wouldn’t refund our deposit since the contract states no refund, but the contract also states that the business will respond within 72 hours during business days. We went weeks without a response which violates the business responsibility and services rendered in the contract. We politely asked again for at least half of deposit back due to the lack of services we had received. We had hoped she would do the right thing and return our money to us. We sent our last message on September 25th that states the breach of contract and asked if she would reconsider her decision to refund our money since we believe we weren’t liable. Yet again there was no answer. We consulted with multiple professionals within the industry and received feedback that this communication is not within industry standard. After reviewing the contract, these professionals concluded that it doesn't have any protection for the client and that their contracts do provide specific protections for their clients. As a client, I acknowledge and respect the contract, but there were multiple breaches of communication that affected our agreement. With that being said, it is with sincere regret that we must express our disappointment with our experience with Moments in Time. As a result of this situation, we were the ones to suffer the consequences and we can only hope that others do not encounter the same challenges that we faced.
