About

Photography has always been a big part of my life. I grew up in a family of shutterbugs and regardless of the occasion, whether it was a holiday, birthday, school event, or a family vacation, someone in my family always had a camera to snap photos. I loved the idea of taking pictures and preserving memories so I would grab my camera at any chance and take pictures too! That is how my love affair with photography began. But it wasn’t until my husband Dave and I had our first child in 1999 that photography took on a new meaning for me. I dreamed of having my own business and decided to really start pursuing photography. I also designed my first Web site. The majority of my work at that time involved photographing family events and landscaping scenes, traveling areas from Virginia to New York. Then in 2004 with the birth of our second child, I made the decision to put my dream on hold. In 2006 I started to pursue my dream once again and began to slowly and methodically build my portfolio. I decided to undertake more formal training in photography and graduated from the New York Institute of Photography. I’ve spent countless hours in photographic workshops and Web-based seminars as well as engaging in a great deal of self and hands-on studies to keep my skills and knowledge current.

I belong to several organizations wherein I am able to use my skills: Among these are “Think Pink Photography”, “Littlest Heroes”, and “Americorps.” I was also the Webmaster, designer and photographer for the “Ms. Wheelchair Organization” for several years.

My style is primarily contemporary and somewhat artistic and has a candid photojournalistic feel, mixing color with black and white photography. You will notice when looking at samples of my work that it is differs from the norm. I enjoy being able to provide something out of the ordinary but also am happy to provide more traditional photographic services as well. I am committed to giving clients the best possible services and photographic images available. Whether it’s a small portrait session, a large wedding or a non-profit organization I strive to put all I have into a great experience.

I’ve had the pleasure of shooting weddings for a many years now and love the overall experience of working in this area. I always strive to capture even the smallest of details so that years from now those memories of that day will be forever preserved and shared.

My family is a true inspiration and they bring so much meaning into my photography. Although I am first a mom, with the support of my children, and of my true love, my husband who passed away on March 29, 2010. I am also a great photographer. I can say I have been truly blessed in my life., In October of 2011 I met a wonderful man named Tony of whom my children and I absolutely love. Tony is also a very talented photographer and now shoots weddings and other sessions with me. The future looks very bright and I can't wait to see what is around the corner each day.

There is always a memory to cherish. Let me help you capture those memories with a photograph and preserve them forever!
