Victoria is amazing, talented, professional, gifted, etc. and was instrumental in executing my wedding. Hire her.
Of the 18 different vendors that I worked with to plan my wedding (including a wedding planner), Victoria was by far the single most important designer / professional in realizing my vision and goals for the event AND making it a reality. Victoria not only has impeccable taste, brilliantly creative ideas, and is exceptionally talented, but she is also a seasoned professional, a focused executor, and a pragmatic problem solver. And if all of these traits don’t convince you that Victoria is the best choice for you, I want to add that Victoria is incredibly passionate, not only about her product but also about her clients. She cares deeply not only about delivering a spectacular product for you but also one that is within your budget and that you’re delighted by.
On top of it all, Victoria makes this process so seamless that you’ll enjoy every minute of it, which is so important as a bride because you are making so many decisions you need someone who can make it fun.
And this was essential for me because I was on a very very tight timeline and had incredibly lofty, yet unbaked ideas so there was no room for drama or breaks. We worked closely together for 4 months and as a result, I have many wonderful stories I can share but there are two interactions that stand out most as a demonstration of the consummate professional and wonderful person that is Victoria. The first is our initial consultation. Unlike many other designers I contacted, Victoria didn’t need much lead time to arrange a meeting. She was quick to respond and made herself available the following day, conveniently in the evening, and immediately engaged in the creative process. I pitched her the vision I had, which was lofty and poorly articulated (e.g., a custom toile design, maybe with a crest and flowers but not stuffy, somewhat modern, blah blah blah …. all in under 4 weeks, but I didn’t have a theme or color scheme). To my amazement, Victoria was completely unfazed, in fact, she was almost energized. She then asked me to send photos, Pinterest boards, screenshots … anything I could that would give her an idea of the aesthetic I was aiming for - all while we were on the phone. And over the course of an hour, she helped me navigate closer and closer to what I actually wanted. The following day (!) Victoria sent me a mock-up of what she thought would work and a quote. It was everything I was looking for and within budget. Two weeks later, Victoria delivered a gloriously detailed and beautiful, yet cheeky custom toile, demonstrating that Victoria is not only a creative genius and a skilled artist, but she is also on top of it. It goes without saying that Victoria’s artwork became one of the two major focal points of my event and I revived so many compliments on her work. Multiple guests said it was one of the most beautiful invitations they had received and were delighted to recognize the same elements at the reception. All of this made booking Victoria one of the easiest (and wisest) decisions I made for my wedding, hands down.
The second story (which she may omit if she so pleases) is actually more of an amalgamation of many small moments that convey just how truly wonderful Victoria is not only as a professional but also as a person. As I mentioned, Victoria led me through the creative process and was instrumental in helping me articulate my vision for the event. Throughout 4 months, Victoria and I were in near-constant communication and I often used those meetings to probe her for advice and guidance on other elements of my wedding and the vision I was trying to achieve. Victoria was so patient and generous, both with her time and genius, that she truly deserves an award. Not only did she become my “design compass”, but she was a polite pragmatist, an attentive project manager, and a reassuring but calming influence. I enjoyed every minute of working with her … so much so that I invited her to attend my wedding and to my absolute delight she came. But what floored me is that Victoria spent the entire event assisting in the execution of elements she likely advised on but were in no way her responsibility. One moment that will stick with me forever is the bustling of my dress. As my maid of honor tried in vain to instruct my wedding planner on how to follow the instructions the seamstress provided, Victoria walked by and immediately jumped in. Within a minute, I was bustled and on my way to welcome guests, a high priority of mine. Not that this was a travesty or a high-stakes situation, but trust me - the day goes by in a flash, and looking back, I am so grateful to have had people around me, including Victoria, who went out of their way to make sure that I enjoyed every minute of it.
So, to wrap this up, every bride will tell you there is at least one thing they regret or that they’d do differently. And while I don’t have many regrets, I do have one, and that is waiting to hire a “stationary designer”, which is an unfit title for Victoria’s services. I naively thought that if I hired a planner, they would take my vision, refine it, and guide me on how to make it happen. But in reality, you are only as successful as the experts you hire. And if you are aiming for something unique and true to you and your significant other, you need an expert like Victoria. So stop reading this review already and contact Victoria.
