The recipe for Miss Vi's Cook-Up was created in 2002 with the secret ingredient being Christene and her love of food and entertaining.

Christene's skills in the kitchen were established via a blend of family teachings and formal education which is exemplified through her creative and unique plates. A lot of this credit can be given to her grandmother from Guyana, Viola Accra, known as Miss Vi's. Miss Vi's had shared her unique skills and recipes of taking the most simple and fresh ingredients and making something spectacular with it. One example of this would be the making of a popular Guyanese dish called cook-up rice, which is known by another names throughout the Caribbean. Miss Vi's cook-up rice was so delicious and mouth-watering that it would bring in people from around her neighborhood who wanted to get a plate of it. Christene's father was one of those who enjoyed Miss Vi's cooking, which helped him in making the decision to marry Christene's mother, a running family joke.Out of this experience with Miss Vi, the valuable lesson that Christene had learned was that food that is cooked with love will always be good for the soul.
