We thought we would struggle with selecting a location that felt intimate yet could handle all of our guests. Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club was such a gorgeous facility and backdrop for our ceremony and reception. Their entire staff was fantastic to work with and helped us with every question and detail. The price was extremely fair especially considering the food tasted great and the service was excellent. We would definitely recommend them!

We just booked our ceremony and reception site with Judy at the MN Horse and Hunt Club. They have a newer space since their original one burnt down a few years ago-they did a great job with the new space! Completely private banquet hall with bar area, private bathrooms, private entry, patio, and a gorgeous view. The space is modern rustic, it still has a hunting and northwoods charm with a few taxidermic animals hanging around without being too tacky. Linens, napkins, serving-ware etc. is all included, a good variety of menu options, and competitively priced. Our favorite part is that the ceremony space is right on site, basically in the front lawn of the banquet hall overlooking a beautiful bog and woodland area. Plus they even have some on site lodging great for close family and wedding party! Judy is great to work with, she's very nice and honest. She does, however, need a decent amount of follow-up and double check her proposals, we found a few errors but they were easily changed with one phone call. Overall we've been thrilled so far and are looking forward to our wedding next year!

1st impression...walked in and stunned to see 1 hostess talking on her cell, badmouthing the place, a 2nd hostess sitting on the reception desk, backside to any incoming guests. Took 5 minutes to get their attention, and then treated rudely. 2nd...bartender was way to busy trying to do to many of the servers responsibilities, had food behind the bar she was trying to eat, and left us sit for nearly 15 minutes before we even got a drink ordered or asked if we'd like menus. 3rd...couple sitting next to us absolutely disgusted with their meal, service, and overall experience. They asked for the manager, then waited at least ten minutes before he showed up (this turned out to be the G.M.). When he finally got there, they just didn't care anymore and wanted to get out of there. 4th...I was told there was a great young chef in the kitchen, and they were so impressed with him. If so, why such a poor menu selection? 5th...once we finally ordered, took almost a half hour just to get appetizers...and they were wrong...and there was absolutely nothing impressive about them. 6th...when the G.M. made his appearance, it looked like he just woke up from sleeping in the same clothes for a few days. He would never represent my establishment. 7th...it was quite obvious the G.M. had no control over the staff...they controlled him. Overall, very very disappointing. Who am I you may ask? Well...I have been an executive chef, G.M., and business owner in this industry for nearly 30 years now. I don't judge harshly and I understand the pro's and con's as well as anyone. So when I say they absolutely don't know what they are doing...I have the credentials to tell you so.

Worst venue ever. After the main building burned down. They promised us a restroom trailer with flush toilets and running water. Instead we got 3 ports potty's that stunk, were 50 yards away and our guests got drenched from rain and several people slipped and fell in the MUD, ruining their gowns and suits. The chicken dinner was the only good thing about it. Also, the rain ran down the hill into the pavilion flooding it out, the brides dress was all wet and dirty, along with others who had long gowns on. Save your money, rent your own tent (pavilion) and have it on a family or friends land.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
