Maurissa was without a doubt the BEST DECISION we made for our wedding day! I literally cannot say enough good things to do her and her services justice. Even our whole wedding party and family that interacted with Maurissa throughout wedding day have also shared how awesome she was. She was fantastic from the moment we had our first introduction – she was so communicative and reassuring and worked with us to make sure we knew everything about Mind of Mo services prior to booking. That first impression is what helped us make our choice with booking her, and boy-oh-boy did she follow-through more than we could have imagined! Maurissa was also extremely patient with me - as a Type A Bride, I had sent her a lengthy list of desired photos prior to wedding day. I joked that it was a lot and she made me feel like it was totally normal. I know now that I never had to do this because her vision was magical - our favorite and featured photo is from our Sneak Peeks was all her!

What you want in a photographer is not only someone who will capture amazing photos, but also someone who will guide you through your wedding day. This is the person you will have the most interaction with all day long. Maurissa made the day fun, breezy, and even when we did have those anticipated mishaps occur (we knew there’d be at least one) she swooped in and literally saved the day. I am not being dramatic – my false eyelashes fell off not once but TWICE. The first time was right before my first look with my husband which caused a delay in our Timeline, and Maurissa flawlessly pivoted to make sure we stayed on track with time while they were re-glued onto my face. Then the second time the eyelashes came off, it was Maurissa herself who stepped up to the plate to make sure those babies were glued on right before I walked down the aisle. In this moment of panic for me, Maurissa had a confidence and calm demeanor that quickly put me at ease (and those eyelashes didn’t move again the whole night).

On top of everything, our wedding was also on the far East side of Michigan, and Maurissa is based in Minnesota. We are extremely thankful that her services were offered at this distance! Our Sneak Peek photos are STUNNING and we are so excited to see the rest of them when they are ready!

The pre planning ahead of time made a world of difference! We talked before the wedding and she was able to take all my stress and worry away. We worked with Maurissa, who was very helpful to first calm my nerves about the whole process of wedding planning. I didn't have a lot of specific ideas for shots to take but that's where her experience came in handy. The day of the wedding she was very flexible with working with how the timeline was going. We only made it through all of the pictures we for sure wanted thanks to Maurissa's direction giving with our massive group of friends and family! The preview we've seen so far looks great, we're very excited to see the full package of what she captured.

We were getting married in Minnesota but living in Iowa. Every time I asked for recommendations of who we should hire for a photographer, I was just informed of who not to use. I went down a long instagram hunt and the found the best find anyone could ask for! We picked the rainiest week in Minnesota to get married. The flexibility Maurissa showed was beyond amazing! She was more than willing to follow my extensive list of family photos needed. She was the calm to the literal storm outside and the mess of my bridesmaids not getting there until 30 minutes before the ceremony. She was nothing but kind when we asked her a million questions and when we were needed to be pulled away from our guests for extra pictures. A HUGE bonus, how lovely she was to alllll the children running around wanting their picture taken! I could go on for days about how amazing she was but I won't! She was our rainbow in the midst of the storm.

I thought I was hiring just a photographer. But Mo was SO MUCH more than just a photographer. She was a friend who has been at a million weddings and knows just how you want things to go, anticipates what you need and how to help (offered to bustle my dress with safety pins), advocated for the couple by communicating with the various other vendors so that they were a smoothly functioning team but didn't have to stress us out. She helped us relax and enjoy the day so that our photos reflected our joy and our true personalities.

Maurissa was one of the main highlights in the chaotic planning of our re-configured 2020 wedding.

She'd been enthusiastically onboard for our plan A of Halloween party & costumes (where other photographers were snobby and judgemental of our non-traditional approach). When plans changed, she pivoted seamlessly with us to pull off plan B like it had been our intended plan all along.

Maurissa also did our engagement photos, which we *loved.* Mind of Mo is our professional photography business of choice for life. 🤍

Mind of Mo traveled to Brainerd and went along with all our ideas- even sunset send off pictures on a boat! Turned out perfect!
