Look no further! Book mind of mo!
Maurissa was without a doubt the BEST DECISION we made for our wedding day! I literally cannot say enough good things to do her and her services justice. Even our whole wedding party and family that interacted with Maurissa throughout wedding day have also shared how awesome she was. She was fantastic from the moment we had our first introduction – she was so communicative and reassuring and worked with us to make sure we knew everything about Mind of Mo services prior to booking. That first impression is what helped us make our choice with booking her, and boy-oh-boy did she follow-through more than we could have imagined! Maurissa was also extremely patient with me - as a Type A Bride, I had sent her a lengthy list of desired photos prior to wedding day. I joked that it was a lot and she made me feel like it was totally normal. I know now that I never had to do this because her vision was magical - our favorite and featured photo is from our Sneak Peeks was all her!
What you want in a photographer is not only someone who will capture amazing photos, but also someone who will guide you through your wedding day. This is the person you will have the most interaction with all day long. Maurissa made the day fun, breezy, and even when we did have those anticipated mishaps occur (we knew there’d be at least one) she swooped in and literally saved the day. I am not being dramatic – my false eyelashes fell off not once but TWICE. The first time was right before my first look with my husband which caused a delay in our Timeline, and Maurissa flawlessly pivoted to make sure we stayed on track with time while they were re-glued onto my face. Then the second time the eyelashes came off, it was Maurissa herself who stepped up to the plate to make sure those babies were glued on right before I walked down the aisle. In this moment of panic for me, Maurissa had a confidence and calm demeanor that quickly put me at ease (and those eyelashes didn’t move again the whole night).
On top of everything, our wedding was also on the far East side of Michigan, and Maurissa is based in Minnesota. We are extremely thankful that her services were offered at this distance! Our Sneak Peek photos are STUNNING and we are so excited to see the rest of them when they are ready! -

Maurissa from Mind of Mo was so EASY to work with! I cannot begin to express my gratitude in how comfortable she made me feel and how she just brought my stress level down immediately. The pre planning ahead of time made a world of difference! We talked before the wedding and she was able to take all my stress and worry away. She told me she was coming the day before to make sure the weather didn't stop her. She was so over the top amazing and fun to work with! She went with the flow and captured moments that I didn't even know I needed...but so needed. She handled my big crazy family with professionalism and was flexible with our timeline when people didn't show up when they needed to. My sneak peek pictures came right away and they were more amazing than I ever imagined they could be! My pictures are timeless and breathtaking! I 100% recommend her for your wedding! -

We were getting married in Minnesota but living in Iowa. Every time I asked for recommendations of who we should hire for a photographer, I was just informed of who not to use. I went down a long instagram hunt and the found the best find anyone could ask for! We picked the rainiest week in Minnesota to get married. The flexibility Maurissa showed was beyond amazing! She was more than willing to follow my extensive list of family photos needed. She was the calm to the literal storm outside and the mess of my bridesmaids not getting there until 30 minutes before the ceremony. She was nothing but kind when we asked her a million questions and when we were needed to be pulled away from our guests for extra pictures. A HUGE bonus, how lovely she was to alllll the children running around wanting their picture taken! I could go on for days about how amazing she was but I won't! She was our rainbow in the midst of the storm. -

Calm, cool professional in the Chaos
Maurissa was one of the main highlights in the chaotic planning of our re-configured 2020 wedding.
She'd been enthusiastically onboard for our plan A of Halloween party & costumes (where other photographers were snobby and judgemental of our non-traditional approach). When plans changed, she pivoted seamlessly with us to pull off plan B like it had been our intended plan all along.
Maurissa also did our engagement photos, which we *loved.* Mind of Mo is our professional photography business of choice for life. 🤍 -

Mind of mo is amazing!
My husband and I met Maurissa at a wedding event just 5 days after we got engaged! She was very personable and her set up was amazing and professional. After also meeting a few other photographers there it became clear, we needed Mind Of Mo!! She was super easy to communicate with and our photographer, Megan, was excellent. She was wonderful to communicate with. Worked with us on short notice changes and helped bring our dream alive!! She came in clutch by bringing me my Applecrisp Machiato Coffee for a mid day pick up. She listened to us. And helped keep us (well me) calm during the process of the big day!! My husband and I would 100% recommend Mind of Mo for ANY photography needs and we will very likely be utilizing them in the future! -

Personal, Professional, Prepared, Passionate
Maurissa and Sean helped us make our incredible wedding day happen seamlessly. They brought professionalism and their experience into our lives, had personal meetings before our event to clarify details, and made a real effort to get to know us before the day of our wedding. Looking at our photos brings back all the love and joy we felt from our family and friends during our wedding, all captured so well by Mind of Mo.
We booked and shot an Engagement session about a year before the wedding, and had a great experience with Maurissa then, and after some additional meetings and conversation, we felt very comfortable and prepared for photography during the wedding day.
Our photographers brought their previous experience and personality to our day, and never felt commanding or controlling. They presented great insight and inspiration, a few must have shots of their suggestion, and were always prepared to pivot and listen to us and entertain any requests we made of them. -

Maurissa is absolutely incredible and I will be recommending her to everyone I know. Not only was she incredibly personable and flexible throughout the entire process, but she went above and beyond the standard. Before our wedding, she helped us understand timing and the best way to craft our photography timeline. She was incredibly responsive and communicative. On the day of our wedding, She was able to work autonomously and did far more than was required. She learned our family members' names and helped everyone arrive where they needed to be. Most importantly, the photos she took are absolutely stunning. She completely understood the vibe that my husband and I were going for and we are beyond happy with our photos. I work in the event industry and know a good vendor when I meet one. I seriously cannot recommend Mind of Mo enough. -

Got married November 2022, and even though Maurissa just had a child, she was still so responsive and helpful when it came to setting up a meeting to discuss and was great about rescheduling too.
The pictures she took were beautiful, she got so many beautiful pictures of the ceremony, from many angles (wide shots, great pictures of us at the altar, pictures of family). She captured the ceremony perfectly. She also got great first-look photos of both my husband and I, and knew so many great locations and poses around our venue. She also offered to help wrangle family for pictures and release tables for dinner too, which was amazing. She even got a great action-shot of me throwing my bouquet at my sister (included below), which was awesome.
She was so great to work with, and went with the flow of what we wanted to do and had no issue taking both serious and goofy photos, and got pictures of all of our decorations as well (most being DIY-ed). She even took pictures of our board game table! Not something we were expecting, but I think it shows the dedication to capturing every moment of the wedding day, which we appreciate greatly. She also double-checked with us before she left that we got all the pictures we wanted, and was willing to stay longer if we did, which we also really appreciated.
Overall, I am so glad we went with Mind of Mo to capture our perfect day. -

Amazing, Above and Beyond, Personable
Mind of Mo was AMAZING!!! They were easy to contact and work with all the way - even when we needed to postpone due to the pandemic. Our photographer, Maurissa, was more than we could have ever dreamed of! She knew precisely what to do and got through our shot list in record time. She was very helpful coming up with couple poses and fun ways to get our bridal party pics. She was essentially another 'day-off wedding coordinator' as well and was not shy about helping us round up people!
Truly, there's no other company or photographer we would have wanted to work with and we feel lucky and blessed to have gotten Mind of Mo and Maurissa to help us record our special day! We've already gotten back our preview photos and the timeline for getting all of them back is very quick. We got a link where we can download all the pictures, so we can print them or do whatever we'd like with them. We also got them in full color and in black and white so we can mix and match whatever we like best.
All in all, we would give Mind of Mo 10 out of 5 stars if we could! -

Perfection
It wasn't a shock to us that Maurissa and Blair gave us an amazing experience on our wedding day as this is my 3rd experience using Mind of Mo as a photographer! Maurissa is a strong communicator and took a TON of time making sure that my husband and I had a perfect day. Not only did she respond to messages in the months leading up to the wedding, she spent HOURS meeting with us in person to ensure that we had a vision for the wedding day. Maurissa went above and beyond to make sure that we not only felt good about the photos but also with other aspects of the wedding (including helping us find last minute dishware!). Maurissa and Blair were our constant supports during one of busiest days of our lives. We just received our photos back (well over a month before the deadline) and they are STUNNING! Thanks times a million! -

Where do I start? At first I was so paranoid of having a photographer and didn’t think I would need one. Only 3.5 months to my wedding date I changed my mind. Mind of Mo was very easy to communicate with and was very fast at responding! I ended up going with the Silver Investment and it was a game changer! I got to meet up with our photographer Megan and go over things that myself wouldn’t have thought of! It was very helpful with the “homework” given so we covered our bases. Also at this time we were able to add another photographer, Morgan, witch was a steal! During the wedding I never felt so calm and relaxed. Our photographer’s nailed it all. It took roughly 2.5 weeks for a sneak peak. Normally it’s two weeks but you never know what life can throw at you! I’m still waiting on all the rest of our images but I don’t think I will be disappointed. I’m in love with all 25 of my sneak peaks! 100% recommended! -

I found Maurissa and Mind of Mo at a bridal fair in the very beginning stages of planning. From the get go I was so excited to work with her. Maurissa was unavailable for our date, but Morgan was available. About 3 months before the wedding it became obvious that we would have to rethink our day based on restrictions and generally feeling safe. Beyond my planners, Maurissa was so compassionate and understanding. She could tell how stressed I was with all of the changes, and remained dedicated to being a constant for me. She cares about the couples she works with so deeply. I was excited to have Morgan come out and shoot our day because I have no vision. The only important thing to me was to have memories of my favorite day captured. Not only was Morgan nice and personable, he went with the flow. He was ready to change things up when needed and still managed keep us on schedule. My sweet husband did not have many opinions about vendors or the process, but the entire day and after he has kept commenting on how great Morgan was and how nice it was to work with him. Having Morgan shooting our day will remain a positive memory of one of our best days. Whether you get to work with Maurissa or anyone at Mind of Mo, I can confirm you will be taken care of. -

Perfect in Every Way!

So I was recommended this vendor by a coworker and I’m so happy that I chose this company! I had Maurissa, the owner of this company. She was AMAZING! My fiancé and I were nervous because this was our first time taking professional pictures. She took lead effortlessly. She had amazing poses, also she asked us if there was anything in particular that I wanted done. She was very clear and helpful on the poses. I don't even know where to begin with singing the praises of Mind of Mo, and Maurissa in particular!
Short version: Mo and her team are AH-MAZING. They have skills out the wazoo, don't over-edit photos, and are generally enjoyable people to have around! 💯 out of 💯 - absolutely recommend!
Longer version: I'm not someone who enjoys having my photo taken - at ALL. Initially, I was absolutely dreading the photography portion of planning a wedding and getting married.... but then ✨we met Maurissa✨ at a wedding show!
The plan that we shared with her for our wedding was a little off the wall (🎃 Halloween, complete with costumes) and she was SO ENTHUSIASTICALLY on board to go right along with our brand of weird! Zero pushback or judgment - she was team "our plan" from the first moment!
Our engagement session was cut short by some ice... but we got 45 AMAZING photos in that first 10-15 minutes (and she wanted to keep going!) That's some superhuman stuff right there!
Fast forward to spring of 2020 and COVID throwing everything into absolute chaos in wedding world. 😖 Through all of the madness in readjusting our plans, Maurissa was incredibly understanding and kept us constantly in the loop.
Day-of, Maurissa showed up right on time and helped to keep the mood light (instead of letting me get stressed and worked up), captured all of the perfect moments, and was a great guest to have present and a spectacular part of our wedding crew who impressed everyone present with her professionalism and personality!
Our final pictures are all stunning, perfectly reflect our personalities and our day, and don't look at all forced, posed, or edited to the point where we don't recognize ourselves. All the praises go to Mind of Mo Photography!

Couldn’t have asked for a more PERFECT day
Maurissa was phenomenal from the moment I met her. Her personality and genuine passion for photography showed the minute I first talked to her. She worked with me on the things I needed/wanted and also educated me on the things I didn’t know! Being the person I am with a super laid back personality it was so nice to be able to work with someone who understood my laid-backness but strived for my big day to be nothing short of perfect. She made my whole entire day comfortable and seriously there were NO hiccups. My wedding day was entirely everything I could ever ask for and Maurissa made me feel so comfortable and confident! She also shot our engagement photos and in that hour long session we had so much fun and so much laughter which was very helpful as my husband tends to have a more shy personality around people he didn’t know. I will never forget when she had us walk to take photos and had us talk about our favorite ice cream and taught my husband the perfect way to dip during our wedding photos. We had a June wedding - it was 97 degrees outside.
Even so, Maurissa was amazing! She went along with all of my ideas for outdoor photos, including when it involved a lot of walking around in the heat. She even carried around water for me during all of this!
Maurissa really became more that just a photographer to us during the time leading up to our wedding. We met with her many times over coffee and ice cream to talk details of the photos we were looking for and take engagement photos. During these times she truly became a friend - and that was clearly present in the amazing photos we have of our wedding. -

Simply Perfect.
Maurissa has done our Engagment photos, our Wedding Photos and a session of Holiday Photos. And I plan to have her do our family pictures with our newest bundle of joy! She is seriously perfect.
She makes the photo shoot effortless and fun and for candid photos you don’t even notice her take them and the photos turn out beautiful. She’s very friendly and funny. Maurissa is outgoing and friendly! She was responsive in communication in the beginning. Maurissa made sure everything was lined up, provided a timeline for all the vendors, made sure we got every "must have" photo. Maurissa also helped make sure we enjoyed OUR day. I was very worried about the timeline and being behind on everything but she made sure to remind me that there is no timeline and this was our special day so anything we wanted she would make happen and the guests would be okay entertaining themselves until we were ready! Great communication!
They were great! Wonderful on communication with us through the whole day. I also did a payment plan and she literally let me do what I can every month till the day. We were alittle under a year when I talked with her. We did miss a few shots but over all it was great. They honestly let me do what ever I wanted but also made sure we got what I wanted in the end. They were very nice and wonderful! We have been using them after our wedding for our family shots to. I had Marisa and Shawn and they were great! They also have different packages to for everyone and different price point. But again. They do PAYMENT PLANS! -

Great Value with amazing customization options!
Photography was very important to my husband and I when planning our wedding and there were some things we knew we wanted, like a second shooter and photographers that would make us feel comfortable on our big day. I wish I could give a higher rating as Maurissa was great to work with up until after our wedding. Despite an 8 week guarantee on her website, we are almost 10 weeks out from our wedding and haven't seen a single photo. I tried reaching out multiple times via email with no response. When I finally got a hold via text (sunday 10-10-21), she gave a very non apologetic response stating that she was busy with other weddings, and said she would try to upload the photos that day. It is now Tuesday (10-12-21) and we still haven't got a single photo.
