The Merry-Go-Round Museum is a venue located in the Historic Downtown of Sandusky, OH.

Facilities and Capacity

• The Frost-Parker Room is available during normal business hours for the Museum. This room hold up to 40 people for a sit-down meal. The Frost-Parker Room works as either a ceremony location or a reception site but not both. During this type of rental The Merry-Go-Round Museum remains open to the public to enjoy the exhibit in the lobby and main gallery.
• The Merry-Go-Round Museum is available for rental. This includes the lobby, main gallery, and Frost-Parker Room. When the entire museum is rented The Merry-Go-Round Museum is closed to the public. The Museum holds up to 100 people for a sit-down meal. The space may be used as both the ceremony location and the reception.
• The Merry-Go-Round Museum also holds 250 people for a cocktail sytle reception.
• The Merry-Go-Round Museum lobby set up for a ceremony holds up to 75 guest chairs.

History

In 1990 the U.S. Postal Services issued a carousel stamp, as the only animal featured on the stamp was located at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio the issue day ceremony was held in Sandusky. As a result of this celebration and the carousel enthusiests who flocked to the area, a group of local citizens who also had a love of carousels started the nonprofit museum dedicated to the art and history of the carousel. The Merry-Go-Round Museum was able to purchase the old Sandusky Post Office which is on the National Register of Historic Sites.

The Merry-Go-Round Museum is located in the Historic Downtown Sandusky, Ohio. The Museum sits on a corner lot across from the beautifly landscaped Washington Park.
