The Mere Mortals played at my wedding a few weeks ago, and they ROCKED (literally!). I absolutely loved working with Maureen to plan our reception music--from introducing our bridal party to our first dance to getting the crowd out on the dance floor. They had a great selection of musics that spanned multiple generations and I had so many people come up to me after the wedding to say, "wow, your band was amazing." Mere Mortals were amazing! I had seen them our playing at bars and other events and love their music and the fact that everyone is always up and dancing to their songs! I also liked that they do not play your typical dancing songs or pop music at a wedding (like, we are family, celebrate good times, etc). so glad we chose them! our guests are still talking about them six months later. everyone, and i mean everyone, was on the dance floor- they played non-stop for 6 hours!! my husband plays guitar and they even invited him up to play with them for one song, which was amazing.
they dont provide a written contract, so keep everything you have over email. it made me nervous to not have a contract, but it all worked out. and the first dance and mother/son father.daughter dances, they ask you to provide on your phone or flash drive- they will not play the song live as most brides want the original version of the song anyway.

The Mere Mortals were THE BEST!! We hired them to play at our wedding, and they completely brought the party with them. Everyone was one the dance floor for the entire reception. They do an amazing job, and if you want to spend the whole night partying they are the band you want to hire in central NY. I gave a four for responsiveness because they can be a little slow at getting back to emails and phone calls, but it is so worth it to persevere in getting a hold of them.
