We started planning my daughter’s wedding in November 2021. We searched sites and looked at reviews on theKnot and Weddingwire and sent her some links to consider. Since she was pretty busy, she did not have much time to do searching. We actually emailed a photographer who after a couple weeks emailed us back to say she would like to have a phone conversation with US to see if WE were right for HER. Needless to say, we did not make that call.

After a few weeks, my daughter found Matt McGraw’s website. She sent it to us and said this was the photographer she wanted because she said his work was creative and artsy! It was what she wanted.

After reviewing his site, we agreed.

We made the contact and honestly every time during the next year that we contacted Matt he came right back at us with an answer without hesitation.

We hired him for bridal portraits. He gave us very detailed instructions on what to bring, what we would do, who to bring and how long it would last. He did an amazing job of taking the portraits. We went to multiple places in Wilmington – even the top of a parking garage where he took the most amazing and memorable photos ever. His work with light and manipulation of it is over the top. He was able to pick out perfect spots and angles for his shots. It was a very fun afternoon and Matt’s personality put us at ease.

He literally turned the photos right around for our review. We had a hard time choosing just one or two to display at the wedding. He also had great advice for how to display and choose frames as well. Matt is incredibly knowledgeable about all areas!

We stayed in touch in between the bridal portraits and the wedding, again with Matt answering any questions we had about the wedding timeline and who needed to be where and when. We also filled out a detailed form to let him know who we wanted to get pictures of. He text us to double check and understand family dynamics so that he could do the best job possible.

For the wedding day, Matt was there super early with his assistant. He literally was everywhere the whole day and night. Groups of the bridal party took walks (our venue was Bakery 105 in Wilmington, NC) to different areas where he captured beautiful brick backgrounds and made the best use of the light creeping through. His angles again were amazing and the use of space in his photos were again well done! Matt took hundreds of photos. He was in and out of conversations, grabbing people and capturing moments where people did not even realize he was taking their photo!

Matt was on the dance floor capturing the fun as well. We had so many comments from others telling us that he is an amazing photographer, even before they saw his photos.

The turn around for wedding photos were incredibly quick, despite being in the middle of the Christmas holiday. We got colors and black and whites for all plus the digital downloads. The slideshow Matt put together was amazing, as he let the bride pick the music that went with it. Matt let us share it on social media, as well as share the link to the photos to friends and family. We ordered from Matt instead of a quick developing establishment because of the difference in quality. There was no comparison between what he had processed through his site and the other establishments.

Our photos, both the bridal pictures and wedding are lifetime memories for our whole family. We will cherish them forever and our time with Matt! You cannot go wrong hiring Matt McGraw Photography! We highly recommend hiring him for your special event and getting to know him!

Matt was awesome! He was so cool and laid back, I couldn’t have asked for a cooler photographer! He took amazing pictures and loved each and every one of them! Our families loved him and he was so quick with responding!

We first saw Matt's work on Facebook and knew we had to book him. He has an extraordinary eye for unique photos and is a magician with lighting. We've only seen a couple sneak peeks of our wedding photos and we can't wait to see the rest! He was really great at not pulling us away from our guests for long periods of time as well.

Before and during the ceremony, Matt and Amy captured it all. With all the hustle and bustle of the day, the moments we didn't remember were brought back to life when we got our photos and we couldn't be more pleased. Matt captures really cool traditional photos as well as ones that are not your ordinary wedding shots and we are so thrilled with his work. We highly suggest Matt. Matt is AWESOME. We booked Matt for our wedding photos. Neither my husband nor I are very comfortable in front of a camera, so we decided to do an engagement shoot with him to help us be more comfortable on the big day. Matt is SO easy to work with and helps keep things light and less serious, which was very helpful for us. He takes awesome and unique photos that will definitely help you remember your big day. It's hard to put into words how crucial Matt McGraw was during our wedding planning process. From the start, he was so responsive to every email, phone call, and text message I sent him. He made choosing him easy. I was deciding between him and another photograher, and when I asked the other photographer (who was newer in the business) why I should choose her over Matt she simply said "I follow Matt on social media and learn tricks from him all of the time, if you can get him for your date, book him - he is amazing". So without another thought, I met with Matt over a great bottle of red wine and he won us over instantly. He was so interested in our story. He was involved in our entire planning process - helping us choose other vendors, finding an affordable and excellent videographer. He was flexible on engagement session dates (those pictures were amazing too). When our wedding finally rolled around we had an unfortunate family tragedy the week of the wedding - he helped keep us organized and even helped contact other vendors. If you think you can't afford Matt, meet with him. The quality of our images are amazing. He made me, someone who feels completely un-photogenic - love every single picture of myself from our big day. And the artistry he puts into each shot - unreal. Thank you Matt, Amy and the rest of the team for memories that will literally last us a lifetime!

Matt is SO talented. His work is not only so artistic, but truly memorable. He was so helpful in areas that you wouldn't expect from a photographer. He answered questions about our venue, food, music, and officiant. He made the 'getting ready' part of our wedding day so much fun. Him and his assistant were so professional, but so fun! Being in the wedding planning industry, I have worked with a LOT of photographers. Let me tell you, Matt is the best photographer I have ever dealt with. I loved his work so much that I asked him to travel to Raleigh on two separate occasions: our engagement and wedding. Being the flexible person he is, he agreed, and we could not have been happier.

In regards to his work: forget "run of the mill", standard, boring photos. If that is what you want, look elsewhere. Matt has an eye for capturing unique, mesmerizing shots. When you see yourself in his work, you feel beautiful, and want to immediately share all of them on social media.

Not only are the photos great, but he also is extremely flexible and works with you for pricing. He helped us create a package that fit our budget and that was reasonable for us.
