Martingayle Plantation is a wedding venue in Shorter, Alabama. Nestled amidst over 650 picturesque acres and featuring a 16-acre pond, large pecan trees, and grazing Brahman cattle, this charming 19th-century farm is the perfect setting for a wedding celebration you'll remember for the rest of your life.

2nd Location: Martingayle at the Lake is a venue option on Lake Martin for smaller wedding parties of 50 or less.

Facilities and Capacity

Martingayle hosts wedding ceremonies and receptions and offers a choice of event spaces, including the 4,200-square-foot main house, the large yard in front of the house, and the 6,500-square-foot clubhouse that is climate-controlled with a kitchen and restrooms. The clubhouse has glass garage doors for all weather use overlooking the large pond. Overnight accommodations are available for you and the members of your wedding party.

Most beautiful scenery and everyone was so helpful. Best ever

The farm is full of charm. It is different from any other venue. It has somany options, especially in the event that it rains. My flowers and photographer were perfect. The available place to stay was also tops. Everything was classy and top notch. Could not have been any better for my memories of my special day.

Dream Day!

Martingayle Plantation went beyond my expectations and provided me with the most amazing day I wish I could live over and over. We got married in October 2021 and everything was just perfect. The views from every direction are boundless and beautiful, but the feeling is quaint and peaceful. Len, the owner, was so accommodating and wanted everything to be perfect probably even more than I did! Thinking back about the full day, it was amazing from beginning to end, but, when I received my photos and video back, reliving it from the outside, it was even more amazing than I remember — the backdrop of the land, the mature trees, the plantation home, and so much more, we’re what really set everything off and brought my vision to life. (see photos) I don’t have a single negative thing to say — and I’m not always easy to please!!
