About

The Cedars is a historic property and charming wedding venue in Demopolis, Alabama. A breath of fresh air, this rural destination is ideal for couples that envision a rural but sophisticated experience for their big day. The story of this special space dates back to the 1800s and has since undergone loving restoration by its current owners. Although much has changed in nearly two centuries, the land still operates as a cattle farm, much like it always has. To-be-weds and their guests are invited to celebrate milestone occasions surrounded by the venue's authentic natural beauty.

Facilities and Capacity

Before taking to the aisle, you and your entourage will have access to The Cedar's private get-ready rooms inside The Farmhouse. Built in 1890, this space is rich in history and features distinct Greek revival architecture. Furthermore, it has been renovated with all the modern luxuries one needs for flawless pre-wedding preparations. It also sleeps 12 people and can be rented as overnight accommodation for you and your nearest and dearest.

There are indoor and outdoor event spaces for you to choose from for your various wedding day activities. Surrounded by dense woodland and expertly manicured lawns, The Barn is an idyllic location for all kinds of events. A combination of cobblestone and polished concrete floors hint at true countryside style while soaring ceilings and chandeliers offer a sense of contemporary sophistication. A large set of barn doors lead out into the gardens where you and your partner can host an unforgettable ceremony. Several other areas are also available for your event, such as the Log Barn and Greenhouse, just to name a few.

The Cedars and its staff offer a streamlined and comprehensive planning experience through a selection of mindfully curated wedding packages. Your choices depend on various factors, including your number of guests, budget, and need for overnight accommodation. What’s more, the venue gladly welcomes outside vendors, and your chosen caterer will have access to the fully-equipped on-site kitchen for added convenience. Born into a dairy family in Cornwall England, Richy has been involved in livestock all of his personal and professional life. He grew up in north central Florida and attended the University of Florida. In 1988 he moved to Demopolis, Alabama and began his ranch. His deep connection with this farm led him to revive and share this beautiful historic place in West Central Alabama. In May of 2020 the venue was soft opened, then in February of 2021 he and his wife Tiffany took over full management. They are both very pleased to be able to share the beauty and history of The Cedars.

Tiffany’s extensive and varied background includes over three years as the Regional Manager - Arizona for Mr. Formal Inc. Her duties managing the nine stores and fulfillment warehouse kept her very busy. She also served as the company spokesperson for print and television media. But her favorite part of that position, was when time allowed her to work closely with brides and grooms to ensure their day was picture perfect.
