One of the easiest decisions for my wedding on August 5, 2012 was selecting Malia to do my engagement and wedding photography. I have worked with her before for family photos and the one thing I know is that Malia loves capturing the perfect candid moment on film and that is exactly what I wanted for the most special day of my life. The best part of Malia's approach when doing photography is to capture moments when you don't know she is shooting. She will tell you to just be yourselves and hang out and then when you get the photos back, you have the most authentic moments captured, where you are laughing or looking at each other in a special way. For our engagement photos, we did a pub crawl in our neighborhood of Logan Square and the photos are so perfect to us and our life together. We went to the bar we first kissed an to our favorite places in the neighborhood, even sitting in a tree in the park.

For our wedding, she was the only photographer, but she made sure she was there to catch the moments that mean so much. The emotional hug after my sister's toast, the dance between the flower girl and the ring bearer and the moment we had our first look. She has such a special eye and takes such care in ensuring the photos truly represent the day. She also makes sure she captures things without being in anyone's way where you don't realize she is there, which is so nice. She had our slideshow done within days of the wedding put to a song of our choice. We purchased the package that included the negatives of all the pictures which I highly recommend. The challenge now is to know what pictures to print with so many I love. I highly recommend Malia to capture your wedding day, you will not regret it and you will look forward to recommending her to others.
