Marie did an excellent job! Our photographs came out beautiful! My wife cries everytime she looks at our wedding pictures. Marie was a complete professional (from the trial to the actual wedding day). If only I had enough money to pay her to do my wife's make-up all the time. LOL.

I hate to do a bad review, but honestly, this vendor was the worst I used. I feel I need to warn other brides. She was late, which made my hairstylist run late, which made me run late and have to rush to walk down the aisle, a bundle of nerves - which I didn't need since I was already incredibly nervous.

The thing that makes me the most upset is that although she claims she used waterproof mascara, she lined my eyes heavily in black and when I did end up crying during my vows, huge streams of black came down my face - not pretty.

I know everyone has bad days, and maybe this was one of her bad days, but to show up 45 minutes late to a wedding because she was "stuck in traffic" is very unprofessional. Also, I was a bit nervous to use her services because I am very fair skinned and she primarily works on women of color (according to her portfolio). When my mother asked if she could have a trial run, she did not welcome the suggestion and seemed to go out of her way to make it difficult to feel comfortable using her.

I had originally wanted to use an airbrush makeup artist, but looked into booking one too late. Let this be a lesson to other brides - book early and MAKE SURE you are happy with your makeup (insist on a trial run) BEFORE your wedding day! I honestly think I would have looked more natural and my makeup wouldn't have ran if I had done my own makeup!

Like the other reviewer, I too had a terrible experience with Marie. I booked her from out of town. We were supposed to have a trial run the week of my wedding, but she made it extremely difficult for me, insisting that instead of coming to me, I had to drive nearly an hour to get to her house and do it there-- and then acted annoyed about the whole thing.

Apparently during my trial run I told her I would send her the name and address of my hotel where I was getting reading the morning of my wedding, which I then forgot to do. Instead of contacting me to get it, she then assumed that meant I didn't want to hire her. Cut to the morning of my wedding, where I'm sitting around the hotel room calling and calling and calling her wondering where she is. My photographer is running out of things to take pictures of.

When I finally get her on the phone I insist she has to show up, because it's the day of my wedding-- what choice do I have? It took another hour for her to get there and of course she rushed through everything and then didn't even offer me a nominal discount because of my trouble.

As if all that weren't enough, my bun started to fall out before I was even done with the first dance, not an hour into my wedding.

She's the reason the first piece of advice I give all brides is to trust your instinct with your vendors and fire them immediately if they give you any trouble. For you, since you're reading this, I'd recommend that you just avoid Marie entirely.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
