Although they don't do traditional wedding cakes, my favorite of all time is their banana cake with butter cream icing. I knew I wanted this so I didn't have to go through the trouble of going out of my way to taste and pick all kinds of details. I chose a full, a half, and a quarter sheet cake and stacked them. No decorations on top, just some fresh tropical flowers. It came out better than I could've imagined and everyone LOVED the taste. How could they not, it's the bomb! Thanks Liliha!

My destination wedding had to be full of all of my favorite Hawaiian things. 2 of which are made by Liliha Bakery. We decided to order their famous Chantilly Cake for our wedding cake and then a cake made of 20 coco puffs iced together to look like 1 cake. I was able to meet with the cake designer and she delivered exactly what I had asked for. The guests loved and devoured both cakes! Even the wait staff at the reception couldn't stop eyeing our wedding cakes.

As a Bride-on-a-Budget, I opted to design my own wedding cupcake tower to avoid paying the extra cake-cutting fee at our wedding venue ($1/guest). After scouring the whole island, my fiancé and I settled on Liliha’s guava-filled cupcakes ($2.59/each). The icing/frosting and the cake itself were divine! Not too sweet yet moist and substantial. The guava-filling was unique and tropical. I asked them to put pink pearlized candies on top, which they did at no extra cost. I ordered an acrylic 6-tiered cupcake tower on Amazon.com ($60), loose orchids from Leis by Ron ($.08/each), and asked a friend to hand paint our cake toppers as our wedding gift. She made Japanese style wooden kokeshi dolls that looked just like us---the Bride and Groom. Liliha could not make a small round guava cake for the top of our tower so I ordered a banana cake instead. The banana cake was not very flavorful so if I could do it again, I’d order something else and taste it in advance. In the end, the cupcakes stole the show. They were truly the “icing on the cake.” Of note, Liliha does not deliver, so I had a trusted friend pick them up for us. Also, make sure you instruct the bakery to place the cupcakes in disposable plastic cupcake holders for transport, as they typically just put them side by side in a regular flat cake box, which would make me very nervous!
