We had the absolute best experience with La Gateau Chateau for our wedding cake. Everyone on their team was so sweet, and having them so close to us in Walnut Creek made everything incredibly convenient. We truly felt so lucky to work with them.

The hardest part was choosing the cake flavors because they have so many delicious options. Our guests loved the cake so much that we barely had any left by the end of the night. It was a huge hit. Since the wedding, we have gone back to buy cakes and slices because they are just so gosh dang delicious.

My husband and I drew our cake design on my iPad, and the La Gateau Chateau team brought our vision to life perfectly. The cake was absolutely stunning and even more beautiful than we imagined. We ordered custom toppers from Etsy and provided the flowers the day before the wedding, and everything came together seamlessly.

The final result was the most beautiful cake, and it tasted just as incredible as it looked. We cannot recommend La Gateau Chateau enough.

We loved our wedding cake from them! I actually grew up nearby and had always seen Le Gateau Elegant, but had never actually gone in until our wedding planner recommended them. Karen was so sweet, professional, easy to work with, and responsive to all of my questions. We sent her a few pictures of cakes that we thought were pretty, and she gave us estimates on price and made some suggestions on how to balance aesthetics and our budget. Karen gave us a complimentary tasting box with 16 flavors, 2 substantial pieces of each, which was so much fun trying with our parents. We ended up choosing a 3-tier tiramisu cake with buttercream frosting, which was supplemented by a sheet cake. The cake turned out beautifully and, thanks to Karen's help, we were able to use two cake toppers. The cake was also delicious. We will definitely be back for other sweet treats!

Karen was a dream to work with! Very accommodating and the cake was delicious! The guests raved about it and I barely snatched my top layer from them they all wanted more!

Karen from Le Gateau Elegant was very responsive and great to work with. She prepared an amazing tasting box for us and we had such a difficult time choosing between all the amazing flavors. Karen and her team made our wedding cake and several additional desserts. The cake was beautiful - exactly what we had asked for and both the cakes and desserts were absolutely delicious. Our guests loved them! I would definitely recommend Le Gateau Elegant and look forward to being back in the area to have the opportunity to stop by the bakery for some treats!

After doing a few cake tastings, we knew that the cake at Le Gateau Elegant was the best and most moist we had tasted during our rounds. Karen was really easy to work with and she saw our vision very easily. We had 2 different flavors in our 3 tiered cake, which I am very glad we did to give people options between chocolate and the princess. Many of our guests at the wedding had multiple slices of cake because it was so good. Karen did an amazing job!

My wife and I absolutely loved our wedding cake. My mother swears by Le Gateau and only gets cakes from them for everything from birthdays to my wedding. The cake was stunningly beautiful and delicious. The guests raved about it and the pictures of it were liked by nearly all our friends. The staff is always so kind and responsive, they answered all our questions right away and were always helpful. We had an outdoor wedding and they even helped us with flavors and decorations that could survive the summer sun and stay beautiful and delicious.

I would recommend them to anyone and everyone that needs a cake for any reason.

We set up several cake tastings at different places, pretty sure that we would end up going with a recommendation from my friend. But when we got to Le Gateau Elegant, we were totally blown away! While other places we tried had decent cake and fillings, Le Gateau Elegant creates these mind-blowing flavor profiles (one of our favorites was Apricot Princess - rich vanilla cake filled with custard, apricot preserves, whipped cream, and marzipan). Doing the tasting (Karen took the time to meet with us herself and was very patience and helpful) was a game changer because we were surprised which flavors ended up being our favorite. In the end, we selected 3 different flavors (on different tiers). This vendor was very easy to work with and went above and beyond in meeting our special delivery requirements due to the nature of our venue. By the way, Karen totally undersold the buttercream frosting... it was the best we've ever had!

We ordered our wedding cake from Le Gateau Elegant two months before our wedding. Despite ordering a tad last minute, the cake was beautiful and sooooooo delicious! We must have tried over 20 different flavors at our tasting and every single one of them was amazing. We were also delighted to learn that they offer any of their flavors gluten free. (we had several guests with allergies) In the end we decided on a layer of tiramisu, two layers of chocolate hazelnut (i don't remember the name of the combination but it tasted a bit like Nutella. yum!) and a gluten free sheet cake of chocolate, with chocolate and more chocolate. :-) On our wedding day, we were not disappointed, the cake was decorated beautifully and the flavors were just as fantastic as we remembered.
By the end of the wedding, there wasn't a single piece of cake left... I think our guests must have liked it! We'll also be ordering a smaller cake as a replica of the top tier for our first anniversary, since we didn't want to try to keep buttercream good in the freezer. And they'll definitely be my go to bakery for any other events!

Le Gateau was recommended by Celena our wedding coordinator from the Orinda Country Club after we had a bad cake tasting experience from another local bakery. We met with Karen and we fell in love with the princess cake and the chocolate mouse. The cake was delivered on time at our wedding reception and the cake was fresh, moist and delicious. I wanted a simple elegant cake and the cake turned out so beautiful! Our guest enjoyed the cake so much that they asked for more.

The best cakes ever. Most creative decorations. Karen is very talented. We only use this bakery for all dessert needs.
