We picked a location we thought would work, but once we got there, we realized we didn’t fully understand the landscape — and yet, this amazing husband-and-wife duo immediately adapted and turned it into something absolutely magical. I have to start by saying that booking a photographer for our wedding was a daunting task. Trace and I had never taken professional couples photos and in general we aren’t big into taking photos of ourselves. I was so worried about looking stiff, awkward, and just not feeling comfortable taking wedding photos. I found the Lanings on instagram and was immediately drawn to their authenticity and style of photography. I took the leap and reached out to them. From the initial phone call with Hannah, I already knew they were the perfect people for the job! She really took the time to go through my vision and idea of what my day would look like, and made me feel comfortable from the start. We ended up booking them for the wedding and scheduled an engagement session. This was the best decision because we got to know them and vice versa! My excitement only grew after seeing our engagement photos! Nick and Hannah really do it all! Anything you need, they will make happen! They were able to make our wedding photo dreams come true. They will make sure to have all the traditional photos in addition to ones that are unique and personal! The wedding weekend was perfect, and they were there to capture it all! Hannah and Nick are not only the best wedding photographers, but some of the most kind people! They were easy to work with from start to finish! They were communicative and extremely detailed. As we have officially been married ALMOST 4 weeks, I wanted to extend my most sincere and warmest gratitude for Laning Photography! I’ve had so much time to reflect and I wish I could re-live it over, a million times.

I tell everyone who asks that I think my photographers were such a gift! I LOVED getting to work with and getting to know them a little bit. Their advice on doing a first look and getting family pictures BEFORE was the BEST advice anyone had given us. From start to finish, they were polished and had a sense of ease. I felt comfortable with them, which I think is key for great photos. Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without them.

I simply cannot say enough good things.

I could easily let Nick and Hannah’s photography speak for themselves, but when someone’s work is THAT good, you want to yell it from the rafters! It took less than 2 minutes scrolling through their Instagram to decide that these were the people we wanted to capture our big day. I have never seen more beautiful images in my entire life. We had the pleasure of working with them for our engagement shoot, and honestly, my now husband and I walked into it very nervous and uncomfortable to be in front of the camera. We truly had no idea what to expect since neither of us had had professional photos taken before. I can genuinely say that we both left feeling like the best versions of ourselves that evening. Yes, these two are insanely talented photographers, but they are more than that. They have the ability to make you get out of your comfort zone, all while making you feel in your element at the same time. It’s true witchcraft. Hannah is one of the kindest humans I have had the pleasure of meeting. She brings with her a sense of calmness that allows to you loosen up and have so much fun in the moment. Nick, is a force! We were enamored with his professionalism and his overall coolness. He truly sees the beauty in everything and is somehow able to extract that beauty in every photograph. When we got back our engagement photos we were shocked with how stunning they were. We know our wedding photos will be just as extraordinary. We feel so honored to be able to work with them during the some of happiest moments in our lives and we hope to continue to have them document the joyous moments in our future.

I seriously don't even know where to start with Laning Photography. They seriously made our picture dreams come true! I HATE taking pictures, so it was important to me to find a photographer who could guide us on angles, how to pose, etc. Laning Photography went above and beyond what I could have imagined!!

First off, Hannah is such a warm and kind soul. She truly listened to me and what I was envisioning and made sure it happened. I could not believe how responsive she was via email, even during the craziest wedding season yet with COVID postponed weddings. She even gave me advice on what to wear for our engagement photo session! And not only that, she gave me the coat off of her back... LITERALLY. We changed outfits for a downtown Dallas shoot, and it was extremely windy. She took off her peacoat and told me to wear it and the pictures looked EPIC! They ended up being our favorite pictures! That's how much she cares.

And Nick is such a fun, creative person. He had us laughing the entire time. His creativity and really cool ideas gave our albums the mood and vibe we were looking for. For people who don't feel like we are photogenic, he made us look like we knew exactly how to pose, smile, etc.! He really captured a lot of candid, intimate moments between me and my fiance too, and these pictures are something we will cherish for a lifetime.

If you are looking for 2 photographers who will keep you from worrying about a single thing while making you look incredible, these two are it! They seriously set THE standard for the album of your dreams.

UPDATE: we had our wedding and these two were PERFECT once again! They made us feel so comfortable and helped us get pictures that I will cherish for a lifetime. When I saw our sneak peak, I started crying. I really struggle with body image issues and having my picture taken. I felt so beautiful and felt like they captured all of the emotions we were feeling that day! They seriously helped make my wedding pictures look like they came out of a magazine. They were some of the kindest and warmest souls we have ever met, and Nick had us laughing the entire day!! Nick and Hannah, thank you for making me feel like the most beautiful bride and for capturing all of these precious moments.

Laning was the first thing I booked after we secured our venue. I saw them on Instagram knew I had to have them for our wedding. Nick and Hannah captured our love story in such a meaningful and beautiful way. They are so talented at what they do and take time and effort into your photographs. Hannah and Nick read my daughters personality perfectly. When taking her bridals they created a relaxed, fun and totally organic feel to their session, making her portraits truly one of a kind.
Nick, the consummate professional, truly outdid himself on the wedding day! When we viewed the proofs of the wedding it took us all back to the day instantly. We had so much fun remembering the day and seeing how everything came together.... it was as if we were still there, dancing, laughing and witnessing the best day ever.

Besides choosing the person you'll marrying, hiring Laning Photography for your wedding is the best choice you will ever make! My husband and I were married this past September and we were blown away by the memories Nick and Hannah captured on our big day. We didn't have a huge wedding budget (and we were married during a pandemic!!), so I was worried I would be disappointed with photos lacking extravagant decor and flowers, but the moments Nick and Hannah captured brought my husband and me to tears. These two are true artists! Every single photo they take is full of emotion and takes you right back to the moment it was shot. They are easy to work with and they'll shoot you straight (you will really appreciate this during the chaos of wedding planning)!

We also did our engagement shoot with Nick and Hannah and I HIGHLY recommend this and it will make you much more comfortable on your wedding day. (Not to mention these are some of my favorite pictures EVER!) I cannot sing enough praise for these two as photographers and humans. Thank you both!
