We originally went with Kretchmar's because it was close to our venue and only had a $20 delivery fee- which is extremely reasonable. There prices were great for cakes as well!
I worked with Ms. Sheri Harrison to map out what the groom and I desired for our cake. She walked us through how much cake she would recommend we order, what our options were and how she could decorate for us. We asked for fall leaves clustered versus the traditional flowers. We dropped the silk leaves off three days prior to the wedding and gave her creative license to make the cake look like we discussed- which we really didn't give her much to go off of. She did a lovely job- it was perfect and I don't think I would have been able to tell her how to decorate it better. Her experience and skill came through in the decorating. We gave her a general idea and she creative a beautiful cake!
We went with a three tiered almond cake with raspberry filling and the fluff icing.
the almond cake was flavorful and moist
the raspberry filling did not taste at all artificial- it tasted just like fresh raspberry
the fluff icing was light and just the right amount of sweetness to compliment the cake and filling.
Kretchmar's Bakery will not disappoint if you use them for your wedding cake!

Kretchmar's was absolutely amazing to work with. On top of the amazingly fantastic cake and cookies they made for our wedding day, they were courteous, friendly and just overall great to work with.

Beautiful wedding cake! Guests were raving about the taste and moisture of the white cake and raspberry filling. They delivered it on time to the venue and it looked perfect!

I was thinking of going the cupcake route and wasn't sure who I was going to use for my cake yet, and I spoke with a friend who was married last autumn. She told me she went with Kretchmar's (convenient, in the same town as I am!) and actually did a small cake for the cutting spectacle and served their petits fours rather than a full, traditional cake. We stopped by so I could get some more info on their offerings, and they generously offered me a free petit four to try. Best. Cake. Ever. Even if you don't use them, please go try a petit four from them, okay? So good. I was sold right then and there. Everyone there is friendly, sweet, and helpful, especially the decorator with whom we spoke.

We went back 3 months before the wedding to do a tasting - they had a ton of stuff to try, but we ultimately settled on their white cake with white buttercream for the cutting-cake, and several dozen white and chocolate petits fours. We were able to pay on the spot (but you don't have to if you don't want, though they do want a small deposit). We arranged to pick them up in the afternoon the day before the wedding.

Our cutting-cake was lovely and tasted good, but the petits fours were really the shining stars. We received so many compliments on them as well ask questions, "Who did these? Where did you get them from? etc." I am pleased to provide such a glowing review, and they earned life-long customers from my husband and I, as well as from many of our friends.

The cake and icing are delicious but decoration choices are limited. You must select from cakes they have previously made. They WILL NOT cater to your individual need.
