Amazing Barn Venue!

My husband and I were married at Kehoe Farm on September 18, 2021 and we could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding. Rose and Mick were amazing to work with - they were always quick to respond to any question or concern that we had, big or small! The day of they made sure everything was in order and that everything ran smoothly (which was a huge worry of mine).
The venue itself is gorgeous and well taken care of. You can tell that they love the property and want it to be at its best for all of their events. Our guests kept commenting on how gorgeous it was and how they didn't even know it was there - a little hidden gem in the community.
We also loved that we could come the day before to set up and come back the next day to finish tearing down. I'm a very hands on bride and being able to go and set up myself to make sure everything was perfect was exactly what I was looking for. And it was so nice to be able to leave at the end of our wedding not having to worry about the tear down team. Our family was able to go home and relax and come back the next day to finish collecting our things.
We highly recommend this venue for anyone that is looking for a rustic, outdoor venue for their wedding!

Almost Like Family

Rose and Mick were so helpful through the entire process of planning our wedding at their beautiful barn. Rose and I emailed weekly about projects and ideas and just all around bride chatter. They really make you feel like family. I would highly recommend Kehoe Farm Events to any bride!

Outstanding

Mickey and Rose are amazing people who care immensely about helping their clients have the best day possible. They keep in touch via email and often help with planning the small details. They ensure that everything is exactly the way you want it to be for your special day. There isn’t one thing I would change about this venue or the staff. The venue is the perfect rustic wedding venue or party venue. From the lights to the surround sound speakers to the beautiful field of dandelions that are perfect for pictures, they have thought of everything 💕

Good Value but...

The Venue is Great!! but the restrictions and owners interference is burdensome to say the least. Electricity, water access, and refrigeration is a work in progress, :-(

Unprofessional to say the least.

I want to start out by saying that the wedding venue itself is a beautiful place. The property has a lot of character and charm. However, hiding behind its beauty is the underwhelming hospitality and lack of professionalism. Like most couples, my son and his wife wanted to make their wedding beautiful and creative. I would say they are very well-connected due to their businesses and had every intention to use their social network to bring more business to Kehoe Farms but sadly, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

First of all, the hosts were incredibly controlling and unprofessional. They decided to cancel on them a few weeks prior to the wedding - for the sole reason that they didn’t feel they would follow their rules (rules that were not in the contract, nor were they rules set up by the government concerning Covid). Additionally, the hosts were upset that my son and his wife didn’t share every detail of their wedding and their wedding planning process with them. They didn’t hire Kehoe to be their wedding planners. Based on the other venues our friends and family have used before, my son provided the exact information (and even more!) that the venue would need, but they were still unhappy...

Most infuriatingly, they told my son that their wedding will be “a complete disaster due to his lack of project management skills”. What right does a rented location have to tell them that their wedding will be terrible?! If it was going to be a disaster, then that should still have been THEIR decision to make, since it was THEIR wedding. I’m my opinion and the opinion of others who attended the wedding, they all said “it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to.”

A few more things that were an utter disappointment on their part:
- The one area that the bride can get ready in, the hen house, did not have a working AC system; a system that they promised would be ready to go the day of the wedding. They married in 90° weather, and had been setting up for two days before the wedding. They knew about the AC and didn’t even attempt to fix it.
- Their very small fridge stopped working. We set up our flowers the day before the wedding, but they didn’t have any place to store them. We asked about the hen house (they didn’t want water in there), we asked about the rented bathrooms (the AC cable to the portapotties had mysteriously come unplugged), and they only begrudgingly offered another place in their home once we insisted on having a place to keep the flowers from wilting.
-The ONLY access to water was in their basement which they sparingly turned on for us. Maybe set up an extra connection outside so that guests can use water.
- The people they hired to help with chairs and tables came late, didn’t set up the chairs on-time(which they assured us was THEIR job), and only did so after my family began setting them up. The aisle was initially crooked: it started at 6 feet across and ended at 3 ft across. They only changed things once my family asked them to.
-The very last day, Rose couldn’t even come out to say “bye and thank you” for using their venue. Not only that, not even a simple sorry for mishaps mentioned above. If they would have come out and said sorry and thank you, I would not have written this review. The hosts will never apologize and will act surprised when things don’t work.
- Ultimately, the wedding would have been a disaster without the direct and uncomfortable interference of us and my family. A venue should not have these problems, especially for what we paid.

Ultimately, wedding was perfect, and beautiful, and all that we imagined. But the months of preparation with the venue alone nearly ruined it. My son and his wife expressed their frustrations multiple times, in kinder ways with kinder words, but were gaslit and treated disdainfully. They simultaneously threatened to cancel on on my son, but also tell my my son that they were worried he would cancel on them (???). Other vendors we worked with knew of Kehoe Farms and the struggle other couples had had with the owners, so this is sadly a common theme with this location.

My point of this review is so it can help couples/parents on making a good decision on whether or not to get married here, but i especially hope that this changes the way the owners treat their CLIENTS. Once again, it’s a wonderful, stunning venue, with enormous potential. I do not exaggerate when I say my son and his wife fought one of the biggest uphill battles of their relationship going through the process. I only hope others never have to do the same.

Unhappy Guest

My granddaughter’s wedding was hosted at this venue….the wedding itself was beautiful in spite of the unfriendly, unprofessional hosts. The host were incredibly controlling and unprofessional. They pestered the bride and groom for the entire week before they wedding to ask for every little detail that was not necessary for them to know. The venue was rented not a wedding planner.
The “Hen House”, designated as the area for the bride and her attendants to get ready was a sweat box. No A/C as promised and when I perused the reviews this has been a problem from the beginning. The bride and groom were told that there would be A/C on the day of the wedding.
The area for the serving of the food did not meet health standards, there was no running water, in the beginning we were told that we could have sterno under the serving trays to keep the food warm but told day of that we could not. The host did relent and allow the sterno to be used. There was nowhere to keep food refrigerated. Nothing available for ADA guests, which was one of the groom’s concerns and was assured that the venue would be ADA compatible.
It was not only the serving area but the entire venue was not ADA compliant, there was at least 4 guests at the wedding that were in wheelchairs, there was no ramps, no Handicapped parking. In fact, when a car pulled up to the tent to allow a disabled guest to be seated in the tent the host ran after the car and tried to stop them. There were no ADA restrooms, in short it was very difficult for disabled guests and did not meet ADA requirements. I am not from Michigan so I am not schooled on the laws for the state regarding ADA, but I do know the basics that were definitely not addressed.
The host “hovered” over the entire event during the rehearsal and the wedding, she would approach the bride and groom with comments or concerns even during the reception while they were on the dance floor. Our family and friends ran interference for them which was uncomfortable but necessary to directly address they rudeness and controlling attitude of the hosts.
