The historic Ellis Barn is a barn and farm wedding venue located in Davisburg, Michigan. It offers a unique educational and historic experience the moment you step onto the grounds. The Ellis Barn will transport you back in time to the 1800s and deliver a very special setting for you to celebrate your big day.

Facilities and Capacity

The Ellis Barn is situated on Springfield Oaks County Park, where the natural grounds surrounding the event space serve as a beautiful backdrop for your special event. The barn itself features a true gambrel roof and is a beloved local landmark. The Ellis Barn is two stories tall and the levels are joined by an interior stairwell. There is also a vertical lift for guests with limited mobility. The lower level features a dance floor and plenty of space for a seated dining experience. For a reception style set up, the lower level can accommodate up to 150 guests and the upper level can accommodate up to 250 guests. Rental of the barn includes both levels.

History

The Ellis Barn was originally constructed in 1884 and was part of a 78-acre Ingomar Stock Farm owned by Norman J. Ellis. This barn represents a significant period of Michigan’s agricultural and transportation history. The Ellis Barn has remained in the Ellis family since its construction and was recognized as a Michigan Centennial Farm.

Services Offered

The Ellis Barn is happy to welcome outside vendors of your choice. This allows you to have complete control over the decor, food, flowers, photography and much more. The wedding rental for this venue includes access to the site for a full weekend. This means you can begin setting up for your big day on Friday at noon and have until Sunday at 2 pm to clean up. We also offer a limited number of tables and chairs for a small fee, but you can still use an outside vendor if you prefer.
