My family and I highly recommend this business for all your travel needs as they provided all the latest and greatest information required for our destination wedding. They empowered us with all the information sharing from what to bring, luggage tags, and every small / big detail was covered. Jeni made it easy for us.

Journeys Travel is a hidden gem and we are so glad to have found Jeni and her company. We used her services for our destination wedding in Cancun on 7-7-19 at the Hyatt Ziva and it was better then what we had hoped for. She was easy to work with and very understanding. We used her to book our one 1yr anniversary at the Hyatt Ziva again and as soon as we found out that they where opening on 7/1/2020 we reached out to Jeni the week before and she was able to find us the best rate and confirmed with the hotel to get our 1 free night within a couple of days of us flying out. She was also very comforting in making sure we had all the information needed to feel safe while traveling during COVID-19. We felt very safe at the airport and the hotel. The Ziva is taking all the precautions needed to make sure the guests and staff are safe. Our kids have booked with Jeni recently and friends have been reaching out to us for their trips. My wife and I love Jeni and we can't wait to book our next trip with her.

I wanted to take the time to thank you for arranging our wedding and wonderful trip to Cancun Mexico with all of our guests, 60 to be exact. Jeni Chafer you are truly a lifesaver and quite frankly don’t know how I would’ve done it all without you.

Not only did you help with all the travel arrangements, you were also my right hand and go to person, you assisted with wedding planning here in the states. You sent me great apps that would help with the planning. I’m already a very organized person but with your guidance you made things better and easier for me to go with a great timeline. You helped me with vendor selections. You made sense of my paperwork. You calmed me down when things would get crazy. Even at the end you sent me a binder with our itinerary, pertinent information and contracts, which I thought was amazing since I barely had time to compile the contracts at the end.

From day one you took the time to listen to what our vision was in having an amazing destination wedding.

The resort we picked (Hyatt Ziva Cancun) it was beautiful and breathtaking. It more than exceeded our expectations. Everyone there was so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. The pool and beaches were absolutely amazing! My wedding was spectacular and a true dream come true! All of our guests fell in love with it!

Thank you for organizing our guests and their requests so everyone could arrive on time with the right transfer company (Lalo Styles) patiently waiting there greeting our guest to make them feel welcomed. Also for following up right away when issues, concerns, flight delays aroused. You were always on top of things.
Thank you also for helping and organize different excursions for our guests. A big thank you for helping organize our snorkeling catamaran excursion to Isla Mujeres. It was such a great time with all our family and guests. This is a must do for any future bride that’s planning a destination wedding. Trust me when I say they will all thank you for it.

Last but not least, we will definitely be using you in the future. Thanks for all of your traveling tips and suggestions. Thanks for helping our guests feel safe and less intimidated in paradise.

Very responsive and made traveling fun!

Jeni was excellent and pretty much flawless with everything. She made really good suggestions regarding where to go and was extremely knowlegeable about the property. Not only that, we were really under the gun regarding time and she sometimes worked odd hours of the night to make sure we made our deadlines. In a day and age where one can look up everything on the internet, I feel the value of her efforts outweighed any negligible price difference and made it totally worth it!

My husband and I have been loyal clients of Jeni for over 20 years, booking at least two international trips per year. For most of that time, her service was reliable, but unfortunately, it has dramatically declined in recent years. We started noticing issues with her responsiveness in 2023 when she began taking longer than usual to respond to emails. We even had to start booking our own airfare and transfers because she couldn’t assist us in a timely manner.
There was one incident where she claimed a resort had no availability, only for us to find out later that there was indeed availability. We were frustrated but continued to work with her, even though I started handling most of the bookings myself since I could do it faster and more efficiently than relying on her.
We also asked Jeni if she could price match a deal we found through Costco Vacations, but she told us that was something she couldn’t do. That’s when we decided to book our own trips through Costco, saving a significant amount of money. Still, we continued to rely on Jeni for our annual Anniversary Trips to Sandals each November.
Fast forward to 2025. I had not heard from Jeni at all, so I went ahead and booked our flights for our November trip by myself. But a month before our trip, I noticed on the Sandals app that our reservation had disappeared. I emailed Jeni several times, but got no response. When I called Sandals, I was told that our reservation had been canceled because we hadn’t paid the final balance – but Sandals had sent all the communication to Jeni, not to us. Despite multiple attempts to reach Jeni, she was unreachable. Finally, Sandals reached her and she outright lied, claiming she had emailed us the final payment notice. We asked for proof, but was never sent documentation.
Fortunately, Sandals was able to process our payment late and we were able to keep our reservation, but the whole situation was a nightmare. Then, the hurricane hit Jamaica, and our resort was severely damaged, forcing us to either cancel or postpone the trip. We spent days trying to get ahold of Jeni, but despite seeing on social media that she was in Costa Rica, she completely ignored our emails and messages.
Finally, 12 days later, after no communication from her, I called Sandals myself. After three days of trying to get through, they allowed us to reschedule our trip for June – all without Jeni’s involvement. We were fortunate to save our reservation and avoid a massive loss of over $13,000, but it’s clear to me that Jeni completely abandoned us.
This level of negligence and lack of communication is completely unacceptable, especially after 20 years of working together. I feel like others need to be warned about this travel agency and agent, so they don’t experience the same frustration and abandonment that we did.
DO NOT TRUST JENI. We will never use her again.
